Re: [JMC_Blue_Dwarf] *Action* - \"Auxillary failure\"

"I've got it!" Efof said proudly, and let go of what he was holding onto to fish inside his pocket.
"Efof you moron!" Jay snapped, reacting quickly and grabbing Efof by the ankle as his whizzed past him toward the hole in the ships hull.
"You won't be saying that in a minute, Captain!" said the alien and pulled from his pocket the item that he hoped would be the solution to the problem. "TA DA!"
"What IS that?" Amber yelled across the noise of the roaring vacuum.
"It's a bath plug! It's for plugging holes!"
Jay rolled his eyes, and wondered if anyone would hold it against him if he let Efof drift off into space. "Genius." he said flatly, "But I have a better idea."
He looked across to Jayne. "Jayne! Still got your shotgun?"
"right here!" came the response.
"when I give the signal, open fire!"
Jayne nodded, and Jay kicked out at the handle of a hinged  store cupboard door. His legs flailed in the high wind, not to mention the fact that he was struggling to stay connected to both the ventilation pipe that his left hand was wrapped around, and a bumbling Ffionian's ankle. Not that Efof noticed, he was hung there in the horizontal typhoon, playing Super Mario Brothers on his Nintendo DS. Jay grunted, and kicked out again, and again, and a fourth and fifth time, each kick weaker than the last as the oxygen rapidly drained from the room, and his lungs.
"Anytime today flyboy!" Amber yelled.
With one last heave, Jay kicked out, actually landing a blow on the doors handle this time, which clunked downward, releasing the latch and swinging the door open.
"NOW JAYNE, SHOOT THE HINGES!" he yelled.
Jayne, aimed her gun one-handed, her right hand holding onto a light fitting for dear life, and fired. The blast was enough to knock her back, losing her grip and spin off toward the hole. But this didn't prove to be a problem, as the cupboard door reached the breach first, and slammed across the hole, sealing it shut. Jayne, landed on the deckplate with a  thud, and skidded into the bulkhead.
"Nice work Jayne.." Jay said, as the crew regained their composures. "Efof, let me see that bath plug..."
"Sure!" said the alien.
Jay took the bath plug from him, and holding it by the chain, swung it hard into Efof's forehead, catching him square on the tesitcle. Efof's eyes filled with tears and he fell to the floor, clutching his head.
"Lewis" Jay said "Get the drive fixed, Amber, stay here and help him"
"What?" Amber said "Why?"
"Because you're the one who did the pre-flight checks, I think you could do with reminding yourself what a working engine looks like.."
"but.."
"And because someone needs to be ready to fly us out of here at a moments notice, you're the only one I trust to be fast enough, apart from me, but I'll be leading the rescue mission.."
Amber nodded and headed into the Starbug with Kaleb.
"Everyone else, you're with me..."

Who: Kaleb LewisWhere: Starbug's enginesWhen: Before the Starbug takes off<snip 1>"hhmmm seems like the auxiliary may be on the fraggle, better repair that while I'm here."Kaleb leaves the main computer and heads down to the engine room; he starts work on the auxiliary drive. At that moment the crew unaware of Kalebs activity down below arrive on starbug and get ready for departure.<end snip 1>Who: Jay Chrysler and the rest of the Starbug crewWhere: Starbug cockpitWhen: Just before take off<snip 2>Jay gripped the control stick, and slammed the throttle into full-speed.A wide grin gradually sneaked it's way across his face. He missed this. The starbug rocketed out of the Blue Dwarf, toward the Huddersfield, to the loud, Jay-yelled cry of "IT'S HERO TIME!!!!"<end snip 2>The Starbug flew across space towards the crippled science ship in front of them. The giant sun nearby emitted a bright light which would burn into the eyes of anyone who looked out of the Starbug's windows. Jay pulled down the sun visor. "That sun is going to explode really soon." Said Efof, who was looking at the computer in front of him. "Either that, or this countdown is some sort of baked potato alarm."Jay nodded. "This rescue won't take long."As they approached the S.C.S Huddersfield, a crackly transmission came from elsewhere in the Starbug. "Captain! I'm really sorry.""Who is this?" Answered Jay."Kaleb Lewis sir! I was fixing the engines, because they're fraggled. You weren't supposed to set off yet.""What do you mean?" Jay asked."I'm really sorry... but... I can't fix them in time."Jay tried to decelerate as they approached the other spaceship. He couldn't."I don't have any reverse thrust!" Jay shouted in panic, pressing everything he could think of. "That's what I mean." Said Kaleb. "It's fraggled."Jay tried to turn the Starbug away from the science ship, but without any power, steering was impossible. The Starbug crashed direclty into the hull of the S.C.S Huddersfield, luckily the ship was old and rusty, so the Starbug fractured it's hull like crashing through paper. The first two sections of the Starbug (cockpit and mid-section) embedded into the ship, whilst the larger rear section remained outside.Amid a cloud of dust and smoke, the Starbug's door opened and crewmembers fell out, all covered in bruises and burns from a small electrical fire which had now started inside. Jay helped crewmembers out of the Starbug and into the deck of the S.C.S Huddersfield. "Caotain, this is terrible. Your Health and Safety record is abysmal!" Said the new health and Safety officer Hallie Taylor. Jay tried to explain, but gave up. "Where are we?" He asked. Efof was quick to get out a Psi-scanner. "I think an Engineering deck." He sniffed. "Smells life chip shops.... and mushy peas!"Jay silenced him. "Do you hear that?" He said. There was the tell tale hissing sound of air leaking out into space. The Starbug had become jammed into the side of the science ship, but hadn't formed a perfect seal. Air was escaping through the gaps in the broken hull. Kaleb walked out of the ship, covered in smoke and scratches. "Kaleb, find a way to fix the air leak will you." Ordered the Captain. Kaleb saluted, and walked over to the back of the Starbug. Just then, a piece of metal from the broken starship hull broke away due to the stress of the vacuum of space, causing a much larger hole to appear. More air instantly started to be sucked through the hole, pulling all of the crew towards it."Grab onto something!" Jay shouted. Everyone that could grab something did, apart from Health and Safety officer Hallie Taylor who didn't quite understand and grabbed onto her own clipboard. She flew towards the hole out into space, and was about to be sucked through it when Kaleb Lewis caught her by the hand. Her clipboard flew through the hole and out into the blackness."Somebody find something to block that hole up with!" The Captain shouted. <OOC - tag, do what the Captain says. Lets block up that hole and then start to explore the ship. The plot here is simple, find the Scientists and get them back to the Blue Dwarf. The Starbug is still operational as long as someone fixes the problem with the auxiliary drive that caused them to crash.>
