Rosette - "Fitting In"

<snip>Rosette was conveniently distracted by a new creature which materialised in the corridor nearby. Instead of being a holographic Krylon, this was a large ape-like creature with an exposed brain. "That's not a Krylon." Rosette said, then shrugged. "Chris must have changed the program." She started shooting at it, and Justin walked away.</snip>Rosette ran to catch up with Chris, who was busy slashing at the holograms with his gunblade.  She smacked one over the head with the butt of the rifle, then shot it as it fell to the ground."watch out, those things aren't as well made as they look." Chris commented, which was confirmed when the stock fell off.  "Told you..." he laughed.  "head down to the armoury and get a new one... I'll hold them off here." he ordered.  An order to which Rosette was not against.Running towards the armoury, Rosette tossed the remains of her rifle into the recyclatron nearby, which happily chewed up the metal and energy cells, probably passing the scrap material down to engineering.  She knocked on the opening in the wall, and waited for the armoury technician to open up..."yeah, whaddya want?" the ageing technician grunted.  He handed over a piece of paper with which to get an authorisation signature.  Rosette signed it, and marked down her choice of weapon... This time, a laser carbine with a retractable stock. After it was handed over, the first thing she did was unfold the stock, and turn around to shoot the krylon hologram that had escaped the control zone.  It fell without getting a shot of its own off, and Rosette grinned as the weapon felt more at home in her arms."Security team, there are three remaining hostiles on board." came Holly's voice to everyone involved in the drill.  Chris voice soon piped up in Holly's place."I've got one of them over here, but I can't see the other two.  Everyone spread out and - " he began, but Rosette hit a comms button on the nearby wall panel to interrupt him."They're both down at the armoury, heading down the corridor.  I'm after them." she said, launching herself down the length of the ship after them.  The twists and turns blended in together as she followed the sounds of metal on metal, and occasional glimpses of them in the distance. One of them stopped to shoot her as they ran, but she had her weapon ready, and blasted it with a burst of laser before it could get a shot off.  The other one was gone."dammit!" she shouted, slamming her hand against the nearby wall.  Looking up, she decided it might be time to find out where she'd run to, and was happy to see the science lab icons on the wall.  With a grin, she typed in the code on Rufus' lab that she'd remembered, and hoped he'd notice, and turn off the defense lasers again...She stepped in with mild trepidation, but relaxed as the laser turrets retreated into their housings.  She looked around, then headed for the back rooms again."I did it!" she said, happy that she'd still been accepted.  Rufus turned around on his chair to talk, but the moment he'd turned around, he had a girl right in front of him, wrapping her arms around him."Thankyou..." she said, kissing his cheek.  The thought remained in her head that there was one hologrammatic Krylon left on board, but she didn't want to walk into Rufus' lab and straight away ask if she could borrow his surveillance skills to find it.<tag becca :P>We want to hear all your funny, exciting and crazy Hotmail stories.
