Something's wrong with Alota

Who: Seymour Niples
Where: Medibay
When: As the team were on the Red Dwarf
All Seymour could feel was sadness.
A tear rolled down his cheek but he didn't feel it. The tear fell onto the
medical bed he was slumped over, and fell onto the blanket that covered up his
daughter. His baby girl.
She was lying there, still, so still. Her face was deathly pale, with dark rings
starting to grow around her closed eyes.
"Wake up." He whispered softly to Alota. "Please my baby girl, jolly well wake
up!" But she didn't.
He ran his finger across her cheeks, her skin was getting colder to the touch.
There was a burning sadness in the pit of his stomach. It felt like there was
absolutely no hope that she would survive. His only daughter was almost dead.

Who: Seymour Niples and Alota
Where: Seymour's quarters
When: Only 12 hours earlier
Alota appeared in a flash of swirling blue light behind him. "Boo!" She shouted
playfully, making Seymour jump out of his skin so much that he banged his knee
on his desk. He turned around to see her happy grinning face beaming back at
him.
"ALOTA!" He shouted. "I'm trying to find a new job, go play somewhere else!"
There was a flash and his half-alien daughter disappeared. Then she appeared
across the room. "Daddy!" She called. When Seymour looked up she'd disappeared
again in another flash of swirling light.
"Daddy!" She said, after materialising next to him and tugging on his leg.
"Alota darling can't you see I'm busy. Daddy doesn't have a job at the moment,
and we have a lot of rent to pay."
She disappeared again and appeared on a bookshelf above him, sat there like
she'd always been there. "Daddy look!" She said. When he looked she's
disappeared yet again, and now appeared sat on top of a crate of fine wines at
the other side of the room.
"ALOTA! GET DOWN!" He shouted. "Those bottles of wine are very expensive, and
they're the only reason we can pay for this apartment! Don't smash any!"
"Ok Daddy!" She turned and danced away, her small fluffy rabbit tail poking out
from the top of her small skirt. It was the only physical feature she had that
let on she was anything but Human, apart from the unusual ability to teleport
anywhere in the room of course.
"Daddy!" She said from his desk right in front of him, startling him and making
him bang his knee on the oak desk.
"Alota please stop messing about! Do you want to live like a pauper? All poor
and homeless? Well that's what will happen if Daddy doesn't get a job!"
She disappeared.
"Daddy doesn't want to have to sell any more of his precious wines. They're just
too good to sell!"
"Daddy!" She shouted, then vanished again.
"Daddy!" She said from somewhere else.
"ALOTA NIPLES! STOP MESSING ABOUT!" He shouted.
*SMASH*
He looked over at the wine rack. All the bottles were smashed and the rack laid
on the floor. Full bodied red wine flowed out of the broken bottles and soaked
into the carpet.
"GOOD LORD!" He said in shock, standing up. Next to the bottles stood Alota, a
hand over her mouth in shock.
"ALOTTTTTAAAAAAA!" He shouted, and felt a rage build up inside him like never
before. He raised his hand, and brought it down quickly towards Alota's face.
She vanished, and Seymour tumbled over. When he got up his heart was beating and
he took deep breaths. After the third or fourth deep breath he put his hands
over his face. "Oh dear lord. What have I done?" He asked himself. "Alota, I'm
so so sorry... I never meant to...." He looked round but he couldn't see her.
He ran into the other room, but she wasn't there. So he ran over to the desk
where he was earlier and found her underneath. "Alota, I'm sorry. I promise I'll
never try to hit you again." His voice trailed off as he saw that she wasn't
moving.
"Alota?"
She had her eyes closed, and was taking short sharp breaths. He shook her
gently. "Alota if you're playing this isn't funny. I'm not mad at you any more.
Alota?"
Something was wrong and he knew it. He quickly called for a Doctor and had Alota
rushed to the Blue Dwarf's medibay.
