OOC - New character "John Taker"

We've got a new crewmember who I'd like you all to welcome to the group. His name is Scott and he'll be playing John Taker a science technician.
Joining up and getting immediately into the story is difficult so I'd appreciate it if you could email him with some ideas and encourage him to meet your character.

Character's history/background story

John had a normal sister and mother but his dad was crazy. At 11 years old John's dad got a flamethrower and tried to kill everyone starting with his family. He killed everyone including himself, except John. At 16 he got sent to an orphanage after his guardian died. He got a job as a store clerk.
