Re: **ACTIONETTE** - \"Beauty and the Beast Part 1\"

OOC - Hello everyone, I just want to clear up something that SMAndy just included in his last post (sorry dude!).
When I created this game 10 years ago it wasn't just because I thought had a cool story I wanted to tell people. It was because I thought it would be far cooler to tell a story together. If you want to write a story, become an author. And if you want to read a story, buy a book.
But what we do here is something a bit different and a lot more special. We're all working together on a story. It's going to have ups and downs, and nobody is going to know where it goes. And that's the fun of it!
SMAndy said this:
It is our job, that is David and us (SMAndy & Becca) to create the tension and the evil in the game.
What I'm sure SMAndy means is that games like this usually work best if one person leads the story, just to give it some kind of direction. We've done this in the past by one person writing *Action* posts.
Lately though, all three of us moderators have been quite busy you'll have noticed, and this current story has lacked a lot of forward momentum, and lacked *Action* posts.
Where I disagree with SMAndy is that I'm very very pleased that other members have taken it upon themselves to make this a very rich and interesting story, rather than wait for guidance from us. In the last few weeks we've had morale dilemmas, exciting cliffhangers, and a good balance of good and evil, which I think has really worked. I think everyone should be proud of the stories they've written, I've really enjoyed reading them, even though I've not had as much time to post as often as I'd like.
From my point of view, if I plan the story and it goes perfectly, it's boring. I love it when exciting things happen that I never expected.
Everyone please keep up the good work!
SMAndy - I hope you understand why I'm writing this, I mean no disrespect, but I didn't feel your message echoed my true opinion on the matter.
David, GM
