Room Gloom

Jacky was in his room.

It wasn't that he needed to be there, it was that he refused to come out.

"Get the hell out here and help the others!" Molly screeched from behind the locked door.

"Read the sign." Jacky responded, calmly.

Molly glanced again at the sign on the door. It was a simple piece of paper with words written on it in thick black marker taped to the door. She read the words.

"No admittance. Not even to authorized personnel. You are wasting your time here. Go away."

This made her rather upset.

"I don't want to come in, I want you to come out." she responded.

"Lift up the sign." Jacky replied. "Read the back."

Molly did. It said "No."

"They need you out there!" she said.

"No they don't!" Jacky said, almost laughing. "I'm an astronomy expert! What good am I going to do for them on this mission? They don't need me, and I'm content with the relaxation time."

Molly gave up and walked away.

It was about that time Jacky stared out the window into what he thought was empty, void space. This is why it was confusing to him to find and object floating about.
