Christine's eulogy

Away teams
A clearing on the planet's surface
10.01 AM, 22nd of April, 2101
The funeral was about to begin. White wolf settled everyone
down and held up a comm unit. As everyone hushed, the ceremony
commenced.
-----Snip-----
First, the entrance hymn was played - a fine rendition of "Here I am,
Lord". Then, Master C. Brendan, head of Funeral Services, walked in -
with Stewie behind him. After a few words, Stewie stood up to speak.
"I'd like to read the first reading ..."
It was on the new commandment - to love one another - then, he sat.
Master Brendan then spoke.
"As we are gathered here today, in memory of Christalia Rosalie
Dimitrovski McKenzie, Doom Harbinger & Drusilla Belladonna, Eulogy
Part One, regarding the late Christine McKenzie, will be read by Zack
Richards, whilst Part Two, regarding Ensigns Harbinger & Belladonna,
will be read by a member of the Security team."
-----End Snip-----
Zack cleared his throat nervously. "Ah, yes." He frowned. "Am
I on? Is this transmitting?"
Cubie slapped him in the back of the head. "Get on with it, you
dope!"
Zack nodded. "Um, yes! Sorry!" He turned back toward the
security camera. "Christine McKenzie was a wonderful woman and a
faithful spouse. She met Stewie in the hospital back in '86, and
while caring for him, true love blossomed. Since that fateful time,
they forged a marriage that . . . that modeled all that is good in
matrimony."
Cubie shot him an odd look.
Zack wiped a tear from his eye. "She was Stewie's pillar. The
calm in the storm that was frequently his life."
He paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts and his
composure, but then broke down completely. Collapsing to his knees,
he took in a ragged breath and started bawling his eyes out.
Cubie stepped in front of the camera, blushing
slightly. "Please forgive Zack. He's never been good at funerals."
She continued. "I didn't really know Christine well, but I did
get to practice and perform the play with her. She was a wonderful
person, and in the brief time that I knew her, I found her to be a
warm and caring person with a subtle sense of humor. She will be
missed."
Cubie turned and led the sobbing Zack off. "It's okay, baby."
Zack sniffled. "I don't do well at funerals, do I?"
Cubie shook her head. "No, Zack. You certainly don't. You
even cried at Blotz's funeral when we jumped to 3011 to see it."
Zack coughed. "That was a little different."
Cubie shrugged. "Tears of joy still count, Zack. You are just
very emotional around death. There's nothing wrong with that."
