To See'st is to Be Able...

Who: Shakespeare, Coffey, Keto, Cleavage.
Where: Medibay.
When: An hour later.
---------------

There was a fizzle and a pop and the turtle became the surgeon once more.
"I'mst assuming that, I hath been changed baks't to thy human being?" he said, ramdonly reaching out at things.  Keto rolled his eyes as one of Shakespeare's hands hit a tray that was resting on the side of a cabinet, sending medical equipment flying everywhere.

Coffey, sat next to her significant other and helped him up from the seat.  "Let's get you to one of the beds," she said, guiding the blind surgeon between the various tables.

"I don;t know why you bother, he's less of a hazard this way," said Keto from his office.

"Be quiet you," said Tara from her report.

  "Bloody staff," muttered Keto.

Coffey lay Shakespeare down on the bed and picked up a few instruments.

"Do you know why you are blind?" she asked, taking a small detecting device.

  "Yes'th," said Shakespeare, grimacing.  "My eyes't hath been'st remov'd."

"What?" asked Keto, hurrying from the medibay and out to stand next to Coffey and Shakespeare.

"Did you say removed?" asked Tara.

"Yes'th," he said, opening his eyelids.

Coffey gasped at the eye sockets.  Instead of there being two hollow sockets, both were missing and had wall of solid bone in front.  Keto and Cleavage both recoiled slightly at the sight.

"How in the world did that happen?" asked Tara.

"Tis a story longers't than night, and as black as death," replied Shakespeare closing his eyes.  "And mores't sad than starcross'd lovers."

  "What happened?" asked Coffey.

"It was't three years after'st myne and Trisees's deaths.  We'st been habitating purgat'ry fors't all thy time.  I was't placed in a torment chamber, ands't myne worst nightmareth was to be without vision.  Afterw'ds the rescue by Ms. Wildflower, sav'd us from teh horrors, I was't quite happy, but then, the usage of the gate jumping machineth to leave behinds't thee dimension.  Somehoweth, between then and'st coming here, my worsteth nightmare'st came true.  Thy demons of thy netherdimension stoleth my eyes't and sight."

No one said anything for a moment.

  "Does is hurt?" asked Tara.

"Nay, but thy worldeth of darkness ist disorientating."

  Coffey stroked Shakespeare's head.

"Don't worry William, I'll look after you," she said.

<Tag - And yes, Shakespeare is now PERMANENTLY blind.  Just to clear this up with people trying to cure him.  It's a new twist for him.>
