**Action** "New Allies Part 2"
---Sector 27 Beta---
Space crackled and bent, and the Blue Dwarf appeared through a
swirling tunnel of gravitons. It had jumped to this section of space
near to a newly discovered Space Gate, similar to the one found in
the unstable sector 27 Gamma, not too far away.
The Dwarf had jumped a good distance away from the gate, in case of
any disturbances or any hostile life forms who lay claim to the
technology not wanting a massive 5 mile long spaceship suddenly
appearing on their doorstep.
Blue Dwarf
Xpress Elevator
Ambassador Niples straightened his suit and picked off any small
pieces of fluff he had acquired. Everyone seemed to have been acting
oddly lately, the massive Dante hallucinating and barging into him,
and Keats deliberately trying to distract him from something.
The elevator stopped, and Dante's massive form climbed in.
"Ahh Seymour!" The man said in a powerful but luckily friendly voice.
"Oh Mr Wendigo…" Seymour said nervously.
"Have you given any thought to my request to use my advanced
weapons?"
Seymour winced. He had been trying to put this question off ever
since he had been asked.
"Well Mr Wendigo… I… well, you see I'm not sure about letting a very
new member of staff start using some very advanced weaponry aboard
the ship without them being fully tested first, and also there's the
matter of your competency of being able to use the said weapons…"
"You mean you don't trust me…" Dante said, sounding a little upset.
Seymour took a step back, he definitely didn't want to insult or
upset someone who had fists bigger than his entire head.
"Is it because I'm an alien? Your being racist aren't you!"
"What? No of course… I'm just concerned about letting unlicensed
weaponry used when we do not even know what it does! And for all I
know, your race might have designed it to kill humans!"
Dante laughed, then looked deadly serious as if remembering
something.
The lift stopped at the Drive-Room and they both got out.
"I'm sorry Mr Wendigo, it needs to be submitted to the science
department for proper testing…"
***Drive Room***
Alotta, Jack Dontno, Seymour, Dante, Johnny, Emma Bonney Roberts
Seymour and Dante entered the Drive-Room, where Captain Alotta was
stood arms folded. Jack Dontno the military consultant was stood
tutting and moaning about taking proper military procedures.
Johnny B Goode sat in the navigation seat, having only just got back
from the medi-bay after his ordeal. Science officer Emma Roberts was
sat at the sensor computer taking scans of the area.
"Approach the Space Gate cautiously" Alotta told Johnny.
Seymour stepped up "Is there any sign that the gate is used?" he
asked.
Emma brought up a zoomed image of the gate.
"It looks just like the last one." Seymour nodded.
"The last?" Dante whispered, being a newcomer.
Alotta turned around. "Yes, A few years ago Seymour ordered the
whole Blue Dwarf to go through without even knowing what was on the
other side, and we ended up crashing into the ocean of an unknown
planet."
Seymour harrumphed. "Excuse me but It was your husband who crashed
us into the ocean!"
Dante took a deep breath. "No arguing" he stated flatly. Seymour and
Alotta stayed quiet.
"WE'VE GOT A FLEET OF SHIPS COMING FROM THE GATE STRAIGHT TOWARDS
US!" Emma said panicking. "There's blips on the radar and
everything!"
"They must be on an attack vector!" Jack the military consultant
said.
Seymour looked round as if he'd missed something. "Hang on a minute!
Those might be a welcoming committee. And as a Royal Ambassador
representing the Queen of England and Earth, I should talk to them…"
"I think we should get fighters ready anyway." Agreed Alotta.
"Okay… but not many" Said Seymour. "We don't want to look like an
invasion force. Its easy to give wrong impressions at first contact
situations."
They watched on the monitor as the Raven and the Space Eagle
launched. The Raven piloted by Dean, and the Eagle by Efof. They
both turned out of the shuttlebay, and Efof almost crashed into the
Bigger Raven.
"…we also however don't want them to think we're total nincompoops
either!" the Ambassador rolled his eyes. "Where's Mr Chrysler in the
Pheonix? I'd prefer him as Flight leader."
"Its still wedged in Parrotts, he's having to take it to pieces and
move it to the flight deck piece by piece." Alotta answered.
"Oh dear…" Said Seymour.
Another ship flew out to join the wing of the Space Eagle and Raven.
"Who's that?!" Alotta and Seymour asked each other. Then the smug
face of Keats appeared on the Drive-Room video monitor wearing an
archaic helmet.
"Pilot John Keats and the Endymion requesting permission to join the
squadron!"
"Are you really sure that ancient looking machine is up to it?"
Seymour asked.
"Yes sir!" Keats said proudly. Squeezed behind him in the cockpit
was Severn, who gave a thumbs up.
"Very well" whined Seymour, it seemed everybody had their own ships
now, all very well and good- but who was paying for the insurance?
"Incoming transmission!" Emma said. "Its audio and video, I'll put
it on the monitor."
"I'll take it!" Said Seymour.
"Excuse me, I'm captain!" Said Alotta.
"I'm an Ambassador!" Argued Seymour. It was my mission from the
Queen to find new advanced civilisations and discuss trade of
technologies and a possible alliance against the Hymenoptera!
"BIG BLUE VESSEL, YOU ARE HEADED TOWARDS OUR PORTAL, EXPLAIN WHY!!!"
Came the voice from the monitor.
They both turned to the monitor to see a big man sat in the command
chair of the bridge of a small ship. He had wing emblems sticking
out of his helmet and what looked like a big pair of feathered wings
folded neatly behind his back.
***Flight Deck***
Jay grumbled to himself, he was missing a mission because his ship
was in pieces. He brought another chunk into the shuttlebay and
noticed a ship in the corner covered with a dirty big blanket.
"Whats this?" he asked an engineer.
"Oh that's what that Johnny guy escaped from some aliens in, bloody
useless though the power cells have run out and I havnt got a clue
what power it needs."
Jay looked at the emblem on the side, a big pair of wings. He'd seen
this emblem before… but from a race who he thought had been wiped
out.
"AERONS!" his eyes widened.
***Drive Room***
"Good God!" Exclaimed Niples. "You're an Aeron!".
"You know our species?" the man looked confused and stroked his
beard.
"Yes, I thought well we met some Aerons on an ocean planet, and
Eniram too…"
The man's eyes grew wider at this. "You are Eniram?! YOU WILL DIE AT
OUR HANDS ENIRAM SCUM!"
"No no!" Seymour held his hands up. "We are enemies of the Eniram
too, in fact we destroyed one of their water bases!"
Alotta moved over and whispered to him. "But Seymour that was kind
of an accident…"
"Shh, it can't harm to embellish events slightly!"
The Aeron thought about this. "Then any enemy of the hatred Eniram
are friends of ours! You are welcome into our realm, follow us and
we will escort you through our Space Gate."
"Splendid!" Said Seymour and turned to Johnny at the helm
controls. "Full thrust through that gate Mr Goode!"
"Hold on a second," Alotta cautioned. "If we go straight through
there we might end up in another ocean! And I don't want to give
another big headed pilot the chance to name another crash after
himself!"
"Hmm good point, the Aerons haven't been all too trustworthy in the
past, they did kidnap one of our Away Teams…" Seymour agreed.
Alotta turned the microphone at the comms computer towards
herself. "Dean, Keats and Efof, go through the Space Gate and scout
it out. We don't want any surprises this time!"
Two ships lead the three Dwarf pilots to the massive gate, which
flashed and swirled as soon as they came close, like water swirling
down a sink, ready to suck them to somewhere new…
