And You'd Thought I'd Died....

Where: Blue Dwarf
------------------
The Blue Dwarf was a real mess. Even more of a mess than the last
time Jacob Stone, former Blue Dwarf engineer, had had a drunken house
party in the mess hall and had tried to wear every item of food. It
had taken the skutters the best part of five days to clean up. In
fact, the Blue Dwarf had been hit by more accidents and chaos than
`Lucky Bob Gopher the world's unluckiest man' who had even been hit by
lightning whilst in an underground cave.
Currently, the Blue Dwarf was overrun by the Hive. A group of
insectoid creatures hell ebtn on the capture of the Blue Dwarf to make
t their own. The Blue Dwarf had put up many a fight against them, but
the last had been the final battle. The former members of the Blue
Dwarf were scattered over planets, and the ship was in tatters, a mere
shadow of the glorious mining ship it had ocne been. Most of the
interior and exterior destroyed by battles, the ship now under control
of the Hive, rebuilding the damaged parts for the Blue Dwarf's
insertion into their own fleet.
Deep on the promenade of the Blue Dwarf, rubble and metal pices
littered the long walkway. One of the most damaged places on the Blue
Dwarf, it was as if it were the remnants of a lost civilisation.
Hive workers clambered over the destroyed pieces of the promenade
hurriedly, building their new structures and converting the humna ship
to their own. Only one of the very many shops stood intact and
unbroken compared to the total devastation around it, and the Hive
workers avoided it at all cost. They were unable to explain how it
had managed to stay standing, how it had born the brunt of the
onslaught and still stood proud.
The shop was McDonalds.
Inside the fast food restaurant, a lone hive worker scuttled about,
attempting to find a small piece of metal it had dropped. As it
moved, successfully locating the piece, it knocked a large freezer,
which began rocking gently. The hive worker sped out of the chain and
rejoined the rest of his team of builders. Inside McDonalds, the
freezer continued to rock, until its momentum sent it forward,
unbalancing it and causing it to hit the ground hard. The contents of
the freezer spilt out onto the floor, bags of frozen burgers, chips
and one very large block of ice sliding over the oily ground and
hitting the side of the fryer.
The large block of ice was man sized, and in actual fact, seemed to
be holding a man inside it. The sheer weight of it hitting the fryer
knocked the on swtich and the oil inside began heating up. As it did
so, the metal edges of the fryer heated too, radiating heat to the
surroundings. As the oil grew to boiling, the ice began to melt,
until all that was left, was a puddle of water and a dripping,
unconscious one armed man.
As the oil bubbled, he too began to heat up before he gradually
opened his eyes.
Slowly getting to his feet, Lawrence Trisees, mental techonology
specialist, shook his head and stared at the many Hive workers running
about outside of the McDonalds shop he was currently standing in.
Frowing, he ran back into the heart of McDonalds, the office area,
where he sighed and wiped his brow with his single hand.
"What on EARTH has been going on?" he asked aloud.
There was a gentle rumbling as one of the major promenade pylon
crashed down in front of the shop, crushing several Hive workers.
"I can see its up to me to save the day. Again," he muttered angrily.
<ooc: yes, hello my friends. Several long years ago, I was a member.
and many staccato stops and starts have NOT dampned my love of this
game. I am returning. You can't keep a Trisees down. Greetings to
all the new people, it'll be a pleasure roleplaying with you all.>
