'Duct'tales...

Who: Trisees
Where: That pipeline section
When: After the groans over the name of the subject have stopped.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Trisees' frown became one of shock and suprise when he realised that
greasy and oily metal was a difficult thing to hold onto with a single
arm and no grips in the first place. The hive workers carrying the
section of pipeline were not the most graceful of lifters, and as such
he tried to keep purchase as the pipeline was tossed back and forth
between the pair of Hymoneptera insects.
"How do I escape?" he asked himself, worriedly as he almost slid from
one of the ends onto a hive worker. As far as he could see, he had
two options.
1) Dive out, hope the hive workers fail to notice him and make a quick
getaway.
2) Wait till the hive workers reach their destination, drop the pipe
and then make his escape.
The only problem with either of this was the percentage of failure.
Currently at 100%. The odds were even less in his favour than if he
was a blinded, 3 foot tall man with no arms, tied to the ground with
his legs broken and head buried under compost trying to catch a
miniature frisbee going 50 miles an hour.
To put it simply: he was screwed.
Trisees was about to sigh, and start contemplating a future as Hive
food, when there was a loud clang, followed by a slight hissing sound
and a small explosion. The duct section suddenly dropped to the
ground, making a large clanging noise, and it began to move, its flat
base scraping hideously across the floor.
Trisees peeked his head gingerly out of the duct to see both hive
workers sliding along the ground, the same direction as the pipe,
their legs flailing madly and howls coming from their mandibles. It
mixed with the low hissing to create a cacophony of pain in Trisees' ears.
As they moved along the floor, horror began to sink into the pit of
Trisees stomach as a thought passed across his mind. He looked out of
the duct a little further and quickly ducked back inside. His earlier
suspicion was correct.
There was a hull breach and all three of them were being pulled
towards the small, but deadly, hole where they would be blown into the
deathly environment of space.
Trisees had to think fast.
