*Action* "Elevator capers"

Who: Seymour Niples and a crowd of people
Where: Mini-Phil's funeral
Seymour looked at the probe casing that the Midget's body laid in.
He never liked the little smegger, but felt sorry for anything that
was ripped into pieces horribly.
Seymour was wearing a black designer shirt with urban styled jeans.
This was a funeral, but there was no reason he still couldn't try
and look trendy. Plus he'd known MP had always chased attractive
girls, and had hoped that some had attended the funeral.
Unfortunately not.
The casing was lowered into a probe launcher. And Seymour did the
honours of targeting it with a small joystick and pressing
the `Launch' button. The coffin shot out into space, everyone
watched it go with sorrowful looks. Seymour watched it fly into the
sun and put both hands in the air. "Yess, what a shot! How cool is
that?!"
Nobody else was that pleased.
Seymour quickly changed the subject. "Anyhow… As the search for the
unknown killer aboard continues, I myself am going to start an
expedition to kill this thing once and for all. For – of course, if
anybody can do it on this ship- I can!"
People muttered some expletives at him but he continued. "So anyone
who wants to join me follow me to the Armoury, we start now!"
Chris Harris followed Seymour out of the door.
"Only you?" Seymour said surprised. "I thought more people would
want to avenge the death of poor mini-Phil!"
"Whoever said that I came along to avenge the death of mini-Phil?"
said Chris, "I just want this thing dead, for some er………reasons".
He nervously fumbled around in his pocket, unintentionally finding
the ring case, that had, up until ten hours ago, contained the
beautiful diamond engagement ring, that now sat proudly, on the
fourth finger of the hand belonging to Kanako FeBuggre.
He shifted nervously where he stood, "Of course it's a tragedy the
killing of the poor guy….if you could call him that, but hell, life
goes on" he continued, abruptly changing the subject, a faint smile
appearing on his face.
"Right, lets get on with this shall we?" said Seymour, an eyebrow
slightly raised at what Chris had just said.
"Yeah" said Chris, happy with the change of subject, "To the
armoury?"
"Indeed, lets go" said Seymour, setting off at a fast walk down the
corridor.
On the way to the Armoury, Seymour noticed a shifty look about
Chris, he seemed anxious, knowing Chris, he would normally have
spent the whole journey talking , asking questions and such the
like, but obviously, not today.
"Are you alright?" asked Seymour when they were 2/3 of their way to
the armoury.
"Fine, why?" Chris snapped
"Erm….Your just a little different to how you usually are, you seem
anxious?"
"Well…you would be too if you were getting marri…." Chris stopped
mid-sentence, realising what he had just said, though,
unfortunately, for his sake, far too late in the sentence.
"Your getting married???" said Seymour, bemused, "Who to?"
"Wouldn't you like to know…?" said Chris, continually taunting him
until they reached the armoury, becoming serious again.
-----Armoury-----
who: Seymour, Chris and Eric Lustbader
"2 laser rifles and 40 energy rounds each please." Seymour asked the
armoury officer.
"Authorisation please." Eric asked. Sitting with his feet up on his
desk as if he didn't really care.
"What?"
"All weapons need authorisation to be taken out of here when issuing
to civilians such as yourself." He pointed to Seymour.
"But I'm a Royal Ambassador!"
"Yes… a civilian!"
Seymour sighed and removed something from his pocket. It was a stamp.
He stamped the paper.
"What's this?" Asked Eric.
"It's the royal seal, I got it from the Queen. It approves anything
on behalf of her."
He stamped the paper a few times, then stamped Eric's hand holding
the paper, then on his forehead.
Seymour and Chris grabbed the rifles and left the armoury.
"So Dude…. Who are you marrying?" Said Seymour, trying to be all hip
and matey with Chris.
"Quiet!" Said Chris.
"I was only asking! Anyway, you can't boss me around I'm a Roya-"
"Sorry but I think there's something above us… in the pipes."
They were both quiet.
"You're right….. this way!" Charged Seymour, again thinking he was
some kind of military hero.
They followed the sounds to a lift door.
"Its in the lift shaft!"
Seymour prized the door open and looked down. A gust of air blew
through his hair as a lift car passed at high speed extremely close
to his nose.
"This may not be such a good idea!" said Chris, the voice of reason.
"Nonsense!" Said Seymour. "I'm not scared, plus this will be a cool
tale to tell of how we tracked down the beast on a moving lift!"
They both saw something move in the dimly lit shaft. It grabbed onto
a car moving down, hiding in the shadows all the time so they
couldn't get a clear look at it.
A lift descended right underneath them and stopped at the floor
below, Seymour jumped straight onto its roof. "Yeehaw!" He said
enthusiastically.
Chris sighed and jumped too.
The elevator shafts were like mazes around the ship, there were so
many, going up, down, widthways and lengthways. Some shafts were
wide enough for only a single car, some double, but some- like this
one were quadruple so that four cars could go up and down the same
shaft.
The killer was on the elevator across from them going at the same
speed. Seymour fired a few shots.
"Its there, I can see its shadow. Look how the shadow changes with
each laser pulse…" Seymour shot the opposite car a few more times.
"Wait Seymour… the cables!" Said Chris.
The cables on the opposite car snapped, and it started to
plunge. "Oh dear." Said Seymour, realising there may be someone
inside. The backup brakes stopped its plummet however, but the car
they were on continued down, making them pass by the stationery lift
at high speeds.
"Was it there? Did you see it?" asked Chris.
"We need to get back up."
They jumped onto another car that was on its way back up. As they
passed the stationery car, they felt a thud on their car.
"Its jumped to this one!"
Their car slowed down and stopped at a floor to deposit passengers.
There was a few moments of darkness as the only light that
illuminated them was when they passed a floor.
Both of them tried to breathe quietly to hear their nemesis.
Suddenly the lift moved again, accelerating to high speed, sideways
this time through a side shaft. Light flashed past every other
second, making it hard to see anything. Something moved onto the top
with them, Seymour could only see a shape in one flicker of light,
it knocked him off the back edge of the lift, where he barely held
on with his hands to the fast moving car.
Chris Harris raised his gun and fired around himself, hoping to hit
something. He could see vague shapes in the darkness, but it kept
moving around on top of the elevator with him. He side-stepped left,
catching his foot under some metal piping on the top of the
elevator. "Dammit!" he said, continuing to fire in hop he'd hit
something..
The lift stopped again and started to move downwards. Seymour
scrambled back up to the top.
Chris fired again, this time hitting a wire, holding the elevator
up. It started to snap.
"Oh crap" he said.
The sturdy rope broke with suck tensile force that it whipped out,
lashing Chris' left arm, tearing the arm right off, it fell down the
lift shaft.
He fell to the ground desperately trying to cover the wound, which
was bleeding everywhere. The elevator fell for a few moments before
the safety brakes enabled, stopping them from falling to their doom.
Seymour crawled up to him, "Are you alright Dude?"
"No my bloody arm's off!" Chris cursed. "I'm bleeding to death!"
"Self self self!" Said Seymour. "You should have killed it?"
"Well I missed. Anjd I couldn't be more sorry!" Chris winced again
in agony. "Now please help, I'm loosing a lot of blood."
"That's the least of your worries." Said Seymour feeling a jolt in
the lift. "The creature's chewing through the safety brakes. We need
to get off this car now or we'll fall…. A long way."
"I can't I'm snagged, look…my foot."
"Oh… ahh…erm…." Said Seymour, knowing they were moments from death.
He saw a lift coming up past them that he could jump to.
Chris saw that there was nothing he could do. "Listen, I want you to
save yourself."
"That's a good idea thanks!" Said Seymour, getting ready to jump.
Chris pulled him closer and said with tears in his eyes. "Tell
Kanako I love her, more than anything."
"Yeah yeah sure." Said Seymour before he jumped to the next elevator.
It was just in time. Chris Harris plummeted downwards as the brakes
failed. Seymour watched as a fireball engulfed the lift shaft below
him.
<OOC- Another one bites the dust unfortunately. As was said before,
we can't discover the creature yet. And how will Kanako react to her
fiances death?>
