The Mourning begins

Seymour made his way out of the lift shaft, and climbed out into the
residential deck, he vaguely remembered something about telling
someone about a feeling, but he didn't pay attention to the now
deceased crewmember enough to remember who it was. He may be cool,
but sensitivity wasn't his strong suit.
"smeg, i spose i should at least try and figure out who it was..."
he said, wandering down the corridors, alone.
He looked at the doors, the name plates written on them, he tried to
remember the name Chris had asked him to remember.
"no, thats not it... nope... ok, thats not even a gal" he said,
looking at every name plate he came to.
"Chris Harris & Kanako FeBuggure" he said to himself, looking at the
name plate. "That's gotta be her" he said, pressing the buzzer.
Kanako opened the door.
"Oh, hi... can i help?" she said, looking him up and down. "Are you
ok?" she asked, seeing the tattered clothing.
"umm, i'm fine, but Chris asked me to give you a message." he began,
looking down to his feet.
"Chris? why can't he tell me himself?" she asked, beginning to look
slightly worried.
"Well, you see... that.. uhh, thing thats loose on the ship... it's
kinda... It killed Chris... He wanted me to tell you that he loves
you" he said, not feeling cool at all, but he felt he had to do as
his comrade had asked.
Kanako stood there, eyes wide open for a second, not moving, not
breathing... nothing. Seymour spied the ring on her finger, and
finally figured it out.
"Ohhhh, so you're the chick he was marrying." he said,
insensitively. Luckily Kanako wasn't paying attention to anything,
she was just stood there... frozen. After a minute, she blinked,
and tears ran down her cheeks.
"Chris?" she asked, and collapsed to her knees in the doorway.
Seymour knelt down next to her. "I'm sorry." he began, "If it
helps, he was a very cool dude." Seymour said, failing at helping
completely. Kanako had blocked him out, ignoring him. She turned
and crawled to the sofa, and climbed onto it, crying into the
cushions. Seymour could hear muffled words, but couldn't make out
what they were. "I'm sorry..." he said, then heard some proper
words from kanako, as she raised her head for a second, "Leave me
alone...." she said softly, tears still running down her face.
Seymour stepped back, and let the door close, before he wandered
back to his room.
---Meanwhile in Jack & Melissa's room----
Just as the lift was plummeting to Chris' death, he had sent a nano-
message to Jack.
"Jack... Look after Kanako, look after her for me" before cutting
out, Jack tried to reconnect to Chris, but had failed on every
attempt. "Holly, where's Chris Harris?" he asked, and Holly's head
appeared, with a black funeral hat on. "sorry dude, he was just in
a lift accident" Holly said, Melissa stared at holly. "Is he ok?"
she asked, Jack looked to her, then to Holly, waiting for an
answer. Holly gulped. "I'm sorry..." he said, then vanished. Jack
fell back onto the sofa, Melissa next to him. She put her arms
around him, and began to cry into his shoulder.
"I know... let it out..." he said, trying to hold back the tears
himself.
"HOLLY!" Jack shouted, and holly reappeared. "yeah?" he asked.
"Keep a close watch on Kanako, if ANYTHING weird happens around her,
ANY hint of whatevers killing these people around her, tell me, and
tell me where she is at the time!" he ordered, "Also keep an eye on
Melissa when i'm not with her, i don't know what i'd do if i lost
either of them" he said, tightening his grip on Melissa, Holly
simply nodded, and vanished once more.
