Eric's alternate reality

<SNIP> (post 9149, introduction of Eric)
Eric opened a secret panel in his car and removed a wad of cash as e
pulled into the space docks. He looked at the list of vessels that
were hiring, but couldn't find any. One, however, looked suitable.
The Blue Dwarf, a mining ship, seemed to be taking anybody. He drove
his car to the cargo entrance of the BD, got out and ran to the
personnel entrance. He dumped some cash on the desk of the
Recruitment Officer and hurriedly filled out a form.

OOC: as the Blue Dwarf didn't stop in Ganymede, what else was there
available?
As Eric pulled into the Space Docks, he only found one vessel - it
meant selling his car (at a fraction of it's value) and heading off
with a few basic essentials and a lot of cash to make his new home.
"Where is this crate going to?" Eric asked.
The pot-bellied, balding, beer stenched pilot answered "Just back to
Earth."
"How much?"
"About 3 thousand."
"What? It's ridiculous!" Exclaimed Eric. "I could easily get a top
charter to take me there for that price."
"Yeah, but do ya see one around here?" asked the pilot.
Eric departed with some of his cash and the pilot started to warm up
the engines.
"You wanna hurry up?" Asked Eric, hinting with another thousand in
cash.
"This baby takes time, I'd better not hurry her."
Eric heard a noise, ducked and whipped out his guns, as a bullet went
passed him and into the pilot through the half open doors.
Eric pointed his pair of Desert Eagle's Mark XXXXXXCX.M at the
shooter and fired a bullet from each gun, knocking the guy back ten
feet and leaving him living impaired.
With the door stuck half open, Eric ducked underneath it and
dispatched a couple of other goons with his hand cannons. He
destroyed a couple of more ugly mutts before heading back to the
rusty crate, slowly dragging the unfortunate victim next to his pre-
venged murderer.
Eric banged on the door a couple of times before it closed, and
discovered that the engines were warmed up enough to start it moving
away from the ground while retrieving his cash.

Eric decided not to chance space flight in the rustbucket, even if it
was such a short distance to Earth. Instead, he nursed the wreck to
another part of Ganymede, where he wouldn't be looked for and it
would be daylight.
He sold the vintage craft for a hundred bucks at the local Cash
Convertors (even though he could have sold it for two hundred
elsewhere and Cash Convertors would sell it for two thousand), and
bought a luxury passage to Earth.
Eric decided to avoid mulling over his problems and spend a bit of
his cash, which made him popular with the crew and his fellow
patrons, earning him a visit to the Captains Table for a late lunch
(local time). Eric's stomach noted that it had been a while before
he came on the cruiser since he had eaten, so he chose not to pass up
the opportunity for another course.
The captain wore a nice suit, mahogany with gold trim, and was
sitting next to a gorgeous young female co-pilot.
"Good Afternoon, Mr Lustbader," bade the captain, "I understand you
have been enjoying your time aboard our ship, 'The QB1', which is the
pride of the P&O&A fleet."
(OOC: QB1 stands for Queen Beatrix the First.)
"Yes, I have, thankyou, Mister...." Eric said.
"Goode. Johnny Goode."
"Well met Mr Goode. Your ship is very magnificient, and I was
wondering how it is possible for a pilot, like ourselves, to reach
such a high position in P&O&A." Eric spoke.
"Mine's a bit of a funny story, really." Johnny said. "I finished my
Space Corps training and was about to become a pilot on a JMC ship,
the Blue Dwarf, which was destroyed during construction."
"Yes, I remember that. I was hired by the man who was going to be
Commander of that ship to investigate the First Officer, but after a
few weeks work, he couldn't afford it anymore. I couldn't find enough
evidence to even guess at who did it, and no-one ever took
responsibility for it."
"After the Blue dwarf was destroyed, I looked around for openings,
and companies are always looking for military trained pilots, and 18
months ago I captained my first ship and just last month I was placed
in charge of this beauty."
"Wow, that's quite a rapid charge up the ranks, Captain." said
Eric. "When we get back to Earth, I will need to find myself a new
job."
"Now, where's that lunch?" Johnny spoke into an intercom as a
bleeping could be heard on the radar.
"Captain, there's raiders, three of them." said the co-pilot in
worried tones.
Johnny rushed back to the control desk where he punched in a key and
set of an alarm klaxon.
"This is your captain speaking, could everone please follow your
stewardesses into the safe area where you will all be kept out of
harm's way. There are a few raiders who are trying to board us, but
if any of them make it past our defensive weapons, they will face the
might of the magnificient P&O&A security team."
Johnny then punched another button and spoke. "Okay <head of
security>, it's time to get you team ready."
At the same time, he was controlling the ships weapons, firing them
at the raiders. He managed to destroy one before they were able to
blow up the large cargo doors.
