"DAMMIT DEAN!" Jay muttered, as he got back to his feet, being knocked
over again a second time by another impact "You could have picked a
better time to get good!!"
He got clambered back up, and reached the panel once more. The
countdown had hit zero…
A flash of light shot out of the front of the Thorax. A blue flash,
filled Jay's sight.
When the light faded, Earth was gone…in its place, chunks of debris
thundered past.
Jay stood, in stunned silence. He had destroyed his home. Earth, was
no more.

The Blue Dwarf was peppered with small and medium rocks from the
exploding Earth. Now, most of the crew had no home.
The lights flickered all around the Blue Dwarf as it shook with the
hit from a large meteor. Johnny fell off his medi-bay bed and woke up.
He was in hospital for the second time since Jay became Emperor of the
Hymenoptera. He heard a noise from the room next to him, which sounded
very strange. He slowly got to his feet and walked to the doorway. He
thought he knew what the sound was, but thought he was dreaming, or
under high-strength painkillers. He opened his door and was able to
look through the crack of the door of the next room.
He saw Jay, kneeling in front of a bed with a covered body, sobbing.
Jay heard a noise and glanced up towards the door, stopping his
sobbing, but didn't see anything, and turned his attention back to the
bed.
Johnny stepped backwards and went to one of Holly's terminals to find
out what was happening.
"What the smeg?" Johnny exclaimed. "Blown up?"
"Er, sorry dude. I hope your family got out."
"I hope so too."
Johnny went back to his bed in the medi-bay and went to sleep.

Back in Parrott's bar, there was no noise. Even MiniPhil was silent.
Dean noted that it was a first for both. Parrott's was full however,
but everybody was glum. Noone could say anything.
"Department heads and senior staff in the drive room in fifteen for
debriefing." Phil said over the coms system. "In the meantime, here's
an announcement from the Space Corps that they just released."
