A Life Long Gone But Not Yet Forgotten

- Evening, March 7th? Radogast Dungeons -

Nim felt herself go cold as her cellmate told her the year. I... I've been in here for almost 16 years.

She didn't even hear the woman's followup question as she fell back into her cot and stared up at the ceiling while she struggled to wrap her head around the reality that she had spent almost a fifth of her life in this cell. Nim had given up any hope of getting out of her current predicament a long time ago, but to learn that she had been wasting away in her cell for far longer than she previously thought still hurt.

As Nim lay on her cot, breathing shallowly, memories of her childhood from when she was 15 and 16 years of age surfaced in her mind. She recalled happier times, when life had meaning and hope, marred only by what in hindsight she realized was minimal struggle and hardship. Everything had felt so much more important back then, but now she realized that all her efforts had been for naught. Everything she had ever accomplished, strived, and fought for had changed nothing, fixed nothing. Her entire life had been meaningless, and now she would die, forgotten and alone in some cell nobody cared about.

Nim felt tears start to come to her eyes, and she sighed despondently. This was the sad tale of her existence, a tale that nobody would care about...

Then she suddenly remembered that she wasn't quite alone anymore. Nim sat up and looked over at the woman who had recently been thrown into her cell. "You, you said you were innocent right? Do you think you will be able to get out of here? If so, perhaps you can tell my story..."
