The price of silence

As she turned her back, Ceriden murmured an incantation. "It would probably be best if she forgot anything she might have read," Ceriden explained to Sabina. She just silently nodded, agreeing that it would be best if as few people as possible knew about this spell, let alone that she intended on preforming it.

It surprised her to hear that he actually believed that he might even be able to help her out, but tried to hide her excitement. She looked around for a moment, making sure no one was too close, before leaning a bit closer to Ceriden, not looking at him but saying in a low voice “At least 1.000 gold coins, depending on the success rate. I’ll be able to pay around 300 in advance and of course I’ll cover any potential expenses that might be.”. She knew that was a lot of money, but to her it didn’t matter if there was even the slightest chance of success. Now she just had to hope that the 300 hundred that she currently was carrying around would be enough for a start, otherwise she would be forced to ride all the way back to Verden and get some more from her secret hideout, which would be incredibly risky and inconvenient at this moment.
