Time to Go

Ceriden sighed anxiously. "This is taking too long," he muttered.

"Close your eyes," he called out to Gareth. He then conjured a stream of pressurized water and sprayed the vampire down. The mage took a breath and called forth a warm wind to dry Gareth off. As the vampire changed into his new outfit, Ceriden tied the unconscious spy to Sabina's horse.

"One more thing," he murmured. Ceriden incanted a spell and placed an explosive sigil on the ground a safe distance away. The sigil was designed to detonate when a living organism of at least 60 pounds (27kg) came within a a foot of it (0.3 meters). He then telekinetically lay Gareth's bloody clothes over it. If the trackers wanted to acquire a scent off of that outfit, they'd be in for a surprise.

"Alright, let's go," Ceriden declared, jogging away, deeper into the forest, hoping Sabina and Gareth would follow.
