It's Alive! Kind of...

"But I haven't even decided yet if we... fine. As long as you destroy this wraith after it has fulfilled its purpose."

Ceriden frowned. Destroying the wraith seemed like a waste to him, but he had already pushed his luck with his employer quite a bit. If he wanted to stay in her good graces, he was going to have to fall in line at some point. "As you wish."

The mage got to work. After carefully reading the text to make sure he knew what to do, he cast a pacification spell on Sabina's horse to make sure it didn't freak out. From there, he began to assemble the wards that would house the wraith's essence. Once he was done with that, he started the the task of extracting the spy's spirit from his body and placing it into the wards he had just created.

Ceriden thought he saw the spy's body twitch slightly as he pulled out his spirit. The incantation still flowing from his lips, Ceriden placed the spirit into the wards, which, to this point, had been transparent. Now, however, an inky darkness spread throughout the shell and spread outward from there. A shiver went down Ceriden's spine as he beheld his creation.

Ceriden had read about how to command the wraith, but he hadn't really known what to expect. As the creature took form before him, the mage felt a subtle presence of sorts brush against his consciousness. I need you to erase our tracks, Ceriden thought. He waved his hand and telekinetically began filling in the footprints around the area, hoping to show his wraith what to do.

Ceriden thought he saw the wraith nod, and then, to his delight, he saw the dirt and leaves around the wraith begin to shift. The creature then began to move back the way they had come, removing all traces of the group's movements.

Giddy with excitement, Ceriden turned back to the others and said, "Alright guys, lets continue on our way."
