Point of Contention

Ceriden, although rather upset that Sabina was trying to make it difficult for him to get the book he so dearly wanted, was struggling to suppress an evil grin. Sabina had just made a grievous error, one that she was now forcing Ceriden to capitalize on. Ceriden directed his wraith to circle around to the front of Sabina's horse, though he still wanted it to keep its distance.

"Hmmm, that is... problematic. So let me get this straight. You want me to murder someone else for this spell because this guy 'doesn't look right'? And now you are trying to adjust the terms of our arrangement? I'm afraid that that particular term of our agreement is non-negotiable. You will give me the book, or you will find yourself another mage to help you with your spell. If you choose the later, I will let you find your own way out of this forest. I also won't offer you any protection against the beasts that prowl these woods, nor, for that matter, will I raise my hand against the vampire that you just released from his service to you."

Ceriden took a breath as he struggled to control his temper. "So Sabina, the choice is yours. Do we part ways here, or do we go through with this until we overcome the many obstacles set before us and finally resurrect the loved one whom you've lost?"

(OOC - Ceriden has deduced by this point that the person Sabina wants resurrected is probably someone she cared deeply for, though he has no idea who it is.)
