Parting Words

Ceriden blinked. He had expected Gareth to be fast, but when the vampire seemingly teleported onto Sabina, he felt himself shiver. Good thing he's on my side...

Ceriden grunted as he barely caught the bag that had been flung in his direction. It had been a good throw, but the mage hadn't been expecting it.

He watched the foolish woman pull herself off the ground, get onto her horse, then gaze at him with teary puppy eyes.

Ceriden looked at the vampire. "Thank you, Gareth," he said before turning back to Sabina. "I told you what was going to happen if you didn't give me the book. I don't know why you didn't believe me, but, well, here we are. One last thing before you go, though..."

Ceriden put down the bag and jogged toward the horse, unsheathing a concealed knife from his coat as he did so (one couldn't be too careful in the lawless land that was Dalen). He carefully cut the vines holding the spy in place, making sure to not cut the horse in the process. After resheathing his blade, he pulled the pretty-much-dead spy off the horse and dragged him a safe distance away.

"I'm sorry it had to end like this, Sabina. You have made a lot of increadibly stupid decisions as of late, the kind of decisions that end up being fatal for most people. Yet you are still alive. Don't waste this chance by persisting with this mad quest to resurrect whomever it is you lost, otherwise, you will most likely find yourself joining them on the other side."

As a hint to Sabina that it was time for her to leave, the wraith moved away from the horse and got behind Ceriden.

(OOC - What all is in the bag, anyway?)
