Worries

As Ceriden started to walk, Gareth followed in silence. He still felt terrible, but didn't waste time complaining about it. After all it was his own fault.

While walking he quietly folded the dress, which he was still holding on to, neatly together even though it was proably going to be thrown away anyway, almost as if subconsciously trying to calm himself by doing something familiar.

"What is troubling you, Gareth? You're now a free man. I kind of thought you would be happy about this development. Am I mistaken?"

The question surprised him and almost made him pause for a moment before continuing on. He gave it some thought before finally answering, still not lifting his gaze from the folded dress in his hands "Of course I'm happy. It's just...". It was hard to explain and he certainly didn't want to seem ungreatful, but now that he was free his life had suddenly become way more complicated. "It's just not as easy as I expected I guess... I mean.. I don't even know where to go. I don't have a home, a family or even money to buy my own clothes. Even if I had money and found a place to settle down it would never work out because of what I am." he looked up, desperately hoping Ceriden would understand and not just get annoyed by him whining. Then he looked down in shame once more, already regretting his words "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to bother you with all of that. Please, forget about what I just said...".
