Unexpected Everything At This Point

After the surgery, Kent had been resting and smiled when Tamara arrived. It felt weird being in a hospital room with an IV in his arm and his leg all bandaged up now, but at least he wasn't in pain at the moment. The pain medicine was doing its job, that was for sure.

"Kent! The most wonderful thing happened! My mom was a no-show to the hearing! The judge threw the case out! I have full custody of Chris!"

A smile crossed Kent's face at those words and he shifted in place to sit up better. "Come here and get a celebratory hug then." He said. "If I could, I'd be taking you and Chris out for dinner to celebrate, but...well..." Those blue eyes of his glanced to his leg.

Yazuhiko chuckled with a kind smile. "No need for you to be shy. I will be working with you on your ice skating, Serenity." He explained, glancing toward River. "Now, your photographer here mentioned that your previous instructor overworked you...I want details on this so I know the exact extent of how hard you've been going at this."

River gently tapped Chris' shoulder and gestured toward the counter. "Want to get some ice cream?" She asked with a kind smile.

Instead of Layla, the person standing there was a very exhausted looking Paul. His eyes stared at Max as he bit at the ring in his lip. "Uh...hi." He said as he noticed the mouse atop his head.

Said little mouse let out a squeak, staring back at Paul with curiosity. "Who is it, Max?" Kevin called from where he sat on the couch.
