19: Shen Li

It probably looked like he was moving in forever rather than just a student into a dorm room. He had thus far made several trips to his new dorm room, each trip taking time to unpack. He had managed to hang the clothes from his six garment bags, filled the dresser draws with his two suit cases, and stowed his toiletries. He hadn't unpacked his sports equipment, assuming it would occupy available space after his set up his rig. He had taken note of the desk space, and it was going to be a tight fit. He had two 30" monitors, three computers, three laptops, microphones and lights.

Back at his old school, Bunnakit was probably thrilled that he was gone, freed from the light of glowing monitor screens. Bunn was easy going, but Shen's industrious nature vexed the dedicated lazy student. He wondered what his new roomie was like. Shen had a YouTube channel to keep up on. He had a video in the can, but he had been working on the new one, and the sudden move from Bangkok to where ever in New York, Salem Center. Several times, his dad had said it was not far from Manhattan, but he had heard such things as Philidelphia, Bridgeport and Newark we also "Not far from New York City."

When he returned to the room, his roommate was there, or at the least someone who would feel at home in the room. Tan spent a lot of time in the room, whether Bunnakit was there or not, so it was not unreasonable. Still, it was more likely to be his roommate. He offered the stranger a wai, "Sawadee kraap... er..." he started. "Umm, Hi, Shen Li." He hoped his pause made it clear that he was offering his name in introduction, not assuming it was the other's name.
