17: Too Cool for School - Namor

Exploring the school grounds was the only thing keeping Namor from being bored. The place had stables, a large garden, and a topiary hedge. There is a lake and loads of running space to train and an Olympic-sized pool. He had changed into a pair of running shorts and had decided on wearing some compression sleeves on his arms. He might not be on a team anymore but he didn't plan on letting up on his practice workouts.

Namor was a little disappointed in his roommate, but he liked meeting some of the other kids at lunch. He had overheard them talk but he didn't want to reveal that he had heard them whispering. He had large pointed ears like a certain Star Trek character which in retrospect they should just have guesse4d he had good hearing.

He had overheard about a "mutant Underground;" he assumed it had something to do with helping mutants find safety and maybe even bring them to the school. Namor had not been persecuted himself but he had seen the news and the stories of people abusing and hurting mutants just because of their powers and appearance. He had been sent here just as his ears changed and his strength started to be too much to hide.

Namor took a swig of water from a bottle that he had dangling from his waist in a netted pouch. The school cell phone was in a baggie with some protein bars. The school was bound to have something or someone to challenge his boredom.
