Meerkat with an Attitude

JP with Voah and Gonyaul:

Gonyaul kept running. As soon as the eruption came within roughly a fifteen foot radius of him, nothing happened. Yet Voah couldn’t see that, because from her vantage point she could only side glance at the eruption cone on the front and sides of Gonyaul.

Gonyaul jumped up and off several settled boulders, when he closed that 15 foot radius gap where the magik just seemed to stop working.

The Odsier was shocked to see the man pop up, unharmed other than some dirt having showered down on him, like a meerkat with an attitude. Gonyaul jumped from boulder to boulder quite easily and was nearing the man.

As Gonyaul came closer, Voah could feel the grip the earth had on her limbs release, like hands on her that just let go suddenly. She was still buried in a mound of dirt, up to her neck so she had no freedom to move just yet. She would have to dig and crawl herself out.

The Odsier went to release another assault; however, now Gonyaul was within range. The earth covering the man began to crumble and fall off of him like sand through one’s hands. In pieces it continued to break apart until he was uncovered. He looked stricken with fear for the first time; a panicked look of confusion. His magik was not working, it was a sensation he had never experienced before.

Distracted by trying to use his powers, to no avail, he was not able to move out of the way to avoid the sliding leg take down from Gonyaul.

Gonyaul grappled the man without hesitation. The Odsier fought back, but was just a step too late behind Gonyaul’s trained technique and because he continued to try and use his abilities even though strangely nothing would happen.

They rolled around and struggled with one another for several minutes, Voah having the best view in the house, before Gonyaul was finally able to position himself to deliver a blow to the back of the man’s head, rendering him unconscious.

Satisfied the man was out and the threat was neutralized, Gonyaul rolled off to the side. He was panting from the effort of the fighting. Sitting up and brushing the dirt off of him he called out to Voah as he began crawling up to his feet and moving over to her.

“Alright?” He said with concern.

From an aerial view they were all in the midst of a battleground of slaughter, an unconscious Odsier lay ten feet from Voah, who was on hands and knees buried up to her neck by now just an innate mound of dirt. Gonyaul was making his way over to her. And off to the side, there was a magnificent-in-scale conical shape of jagged new terrain with a circular area in the middle that looked untouched; much like a crop-circle.
