Fleeing the Field Camp

JP with Lucian, Jaxx, and Winteroak.
You hear the growl of a large beast nearby. The sound is coming from somewhere behind you. You hear loud whistling and hooting through the jungle not far from you.
The sounds of combat echo through the jungle.
Hunter remained calm and as he waited to be attacked. He planned to use his being wounded as a trap. If their attackers approached him he would grab his closest blade and aim for a critical hit in short range by taking out the legs and then put his blade into the skull. He used the ground to feel the vibrations and compared them to the sounds to see if they matched. All he could do now was hope he could survive this.
Tarmen couldn’t know what was happening beyond their little resting spot, but he let his mind wander to stop being so worked up over the current events.
To him it sounded like a hunt. Some poor creature had been chosen to be tested and from what he heard, it could have been a disciple of Vastad.
“If the sounds get closer, then we move. Cagliostro, you will need to help Hunter move while I cover and leave marks for the others to follow.”
With that he unsheathed his machete, but simply kept it rested across his lap.
The sound of a large group moving through the jungle grew louder and closer. It was now or never. Either you moved or stayed to face what was coming.
With the nearing sounds, Tarmen had been given little time to think of where to go.
“Alright, we will make our way back to the camp, so prepare to suck it up Hunter.”
He covered the others as they moved, holding the hope that Alexis and the Arbiter would appear for a moment before leaving them to their fate.
Hunter replied, “If they are coming for us. Then the others are in trouble.”
Hunter worked with Nicolas to stand as he was ready to move.
Tarmen didn’t wait to talk this out, getting the group moving before adding any comment.
“They made their choice and Alexis put me in charge. We are going back, you especially.”
Vastad’s blade this was getting out of hand. Damn Alexis for needing to rescue every damn soul. Damn himself for missing the trap in the first place and damn Hunter for not having any damn perspective! Like the man could be a savior at this point.
Once Hunter was leaning on Nicolaus he dropped a few of his wooden caltrops on the ground to slow down whatever was chasing them before getting on the main trail. Then he and Nicolaus followed Tarmen to the last campsite. It was a bit of a rough run for Hunter as he did his best to run with a bad leg. Sadly each step only added pressure to the wound and caused some blood to seep into his pants leg. Hunter was worried if it was a beast hunting them since they could track him by his blood. However he planned to kill his enemies even if he pushed his body to its limits again.
As the three of you move as stealthy as you can towards your last camp through the jungle you manage to put some distance between you and the sounds of battle and of people. At this rate you will reach your last camp later this evening.
After reaching the relative safety of the clearing they had spent the night, Nicolaus put Hunter in the middle of the circle at his request. Then Hunter grunted as he repositioned himself with his injured leg. He was now sitting on his good leg while extending out his injured leg to remove the pressure from it. Then he pulled out his bow and prepped out a poisoned arrow as he scanned the area for an attack. He planned on doing a quick draw shot since he was not sure where the enemy would show up. He was not liking the situation since he went from being the Hunter to the Hunted. It was confusing enough that others were trying to save and help him. He had no plans to die today but if he was going to die he was going to take all his enemies with him.
