Return to the Brewery

JP with Winteroak, Wim, Alexis and Gonyaul

Prior to departing for the brewery, Alexis had asked Gonyaul and Wim to wait for a moment as she switched for full battle gear.
Apparently there was sharp steel in the air, better be prepared.

The mercenary was pretty annoyed at this point.
She was fine with Zane throwing her to the wolves *yet again*.
At this point? She was expecting it. But Wim and Gonyaul were *civilans*, for crying out loud! Seriously, what the *ifrinn*?!

Arriving at the brewery, she greeted the Brewmaster with due respect, taking the time to -very roughly- explain the situation and asking to have a look at the dead culprit .

Wim went along with Alexis and Gonyaul but was quiet. Talk of the vials had made him start to sweat again. He wanted another vision and he wanted what ever was in them. His mind raced with the pleasure of the drug making all the problems of life go away. He knew it was not true but on the drug he did not care about anything. He needed to talk to the apothecary to see how to get free of the drug.
“If it okay, can we take the vials to the apothecary and the Friar instead of sending them with the guards?” He asked.
He wasn’t going to admit to needing help, but he did not want to be alone with the vials either.
Little tremors rattled his arms and legs, like chills in the cold.
He walked thinking one vial could be his downfall, make that two.

When they arrived at the Skunkworks, the Brewmaster was standing guard over the bodies wearing a two handed sword. The wagon had been unloaded and a concerned look was on his face as he watched the trio approach. Wim felt that familiar feeling that he had disappointed the Brewmaster and that all these deaths were his fault. Like a little boy, Wim hung his head in shame. He broke off to get the crate of vials, not wanting anyone else know he had them.

While they were waiting for Alexis, Gonyaul got permission to head back to the bathhouse under guard supervision. Once there he collected his Arisha Ikeburer and took the time to thank each person involved in cleaning it.

They let him use a side room to change into his clothes; they were still slightly damp but should dry soon enough. He went through his ceremonial process of putting on the attire. The whites and pastel blue linens now were saturated with a light brown color. In addition the upper chest was more pink where they couldn’t get all the blood stains out. At least he still had it comforted him.

He followed the other two to the brewery in silence. He was too busy scanning every detail of his surroundings. And from the looks of Alexis armed for battle he thought they were marching towards trouble. Once inside he continued to try and be out of their way. What had he gotten wrapped up in?

Sargenat Carver was standing over the dead assassin. "This here be Jarid." she said in her peculiar twang, "Him one of the hunters. Works the tannery sometimes." she said casually. "Body been pick cleaned. Not sure by who. But more clues are gone."

Well, Alexis had a pretty good idea who, but that could wait.

“Anything more you know about this guy, Sergeant?”

She shrugged. Her eyes following the peculiar man with the long black hair. "First year settler. Drinks at the Hare. Spent a few nights in the Keep after drunken brawls." nothing much else she could think of. "Hangs around the Soliam steading often..."

“As a hunter? That some kind of meeting place or something?”

"Nay. Spare time. Its one of our farms Greyriver." came the reply.

“So he’d got friends there? Where is that place, exactly?”

Carver shrugs. "Know not." she gives you directions to this particular farm, north of Lowood.

“Thank you, Sergeant.”

Lowood. Certainly a lot of things adding up to point that direction.

She said her goodbyes and went seek out Wim.

When they were amongst themselves, she inquired

“Did you pick off anything of interest from those *Blaigeards*, Wim?”

The only thing of interest that Gonyaul had picked up was the interesting interior and smells of the brewery. He realized he was not really being of much help in this investigatory process. Continuing to stay out of the professionals way, he continued to observe and listen.

Wim returned with the box and the bag of stuff.
Looking at Alexis he replied, "Not really"
He showed her all the things they had on them at the time of the attack.
"I was hoping there was more so that we could help their families," he pointed to his co-workers bodies.

"I was worried of we just left their gear with them someone would have taken ot or defiled the bodies," he said as explanation.

While everyone was engrossed in the business at hand, Gonyaul politely approached Sergeant Carver and inquired about the families of the slain brewery workers. Since he was with Alexis he assumed he may be seen as part of leading the investigation.

He was of the mindset that he still had 27 gold coins and he may be able to somehow assist them. Perhaps he could give them part of his wages each time he was paid from now on. It would never make up for their loss, but perhaps it could help them survive better moving forward.

Carver looked at the man that'll not long ago was in her the guards custody and now here helping. "Ya should ask he." She said pointing at Wim.
