The Arrival to the Maru Caravanserai

Joint Post Redsword and Zeeke

Wolf and the others on the second day started into the mountain range it felt like Wolf had seen this before an ancient civilization. Wolf could see signs of an ancient culture, The broken and tattered structures, the faint road they traveled on. Wolf examined the outposts and sanctums built into cliff faces and buried under layers of lighty covered dirt and dust. The fort ahead Wolf was told about was constructed as a series of fortifications along the main causeways of the Fang people. They were massive fortress-like structures with impressive entrances framed by intricately carved portals. As the group got closer Wolf realized how massive this place was. Wolf touched the stone as he rode by. They were big and solid the people that had made this had to be brilliant this was no easy undertaking.

Wim looked around at the remains of the fortress, the mountain, and the valley. He was impressed that some people had built this. "This must have been impressive back in its day," he said almost with reverence.

Wolf looked at the square construction, It was large and built on different levels. Tome had not been too kind to the structures they were in gradual ruin. The Maru Caravanserai is what this place was called. Wolf stands to see one of the towers has significant cracks, causing part of the wall to have collapsed. The campsite was in a good location an building with no roof but some walls to help protect against the wind and could be defined if they had to. They put the horses in one corner and their camp in the other. after dinner, Wolf pulled out a book and started to record and daw what he had seen.

Wolf started to talk as he wrote. "As you can see these structures have different shapes and construction. I hope we can use methods to find pieces of pottery and broken stone tools, so I also hope to find other types of artifacts. We also expect to find many things that won't keep during their excavation, like charred seeds and nutshells, animal bones, small flakes of stone from the manufacturing of tools, and charred wood. These kinds of remains are useful for understanding the activities that took place inside and around the people that lived here." explained Wolf.

Wolf paused for a moment. "So you guys ready in the morning? I also thank you for coming with me on this expedition," said Wolf.
