A New Guest

JP with Redsword, Zeeke, Winteroak and Cindy.

The young boy appears to be soothed by Islana's presence and calm demeanor. His tears cleaning streaks in his dirty face giving him an even more vulnerable appearance. He doesn't appear to be hurt. He says something in his language that you don't understand. He looks at Islana green eyes and reaches out to touch her red hair. The three of you notice that in his other hand he is holding what seems to be an index finger bone.

Islana responds to Wim and Boyce, "I don't think he's sick or injured though I'm not an expert."

The child seemed to be calming down. Islana smiled as he reached touch her red hair. Then a gasp as she saw the finger bone.

The redhead swallowed trying to underplay her shock, at seeing the bone, in order to not scare the boy.

"Maybe, we should take him to camp. Get him cleaned up and fed. And one of you," glancing at Boyce and Wim, "can do something with that finger."

Wim nodded and picked up the shovel he leaned on.
"Come on boy," he said in a playfu mannerl, waving his hand for the boy to come.

Looking up to Wolf, Wim spoke in the same playful tone, "Well Professor, any idea about the bone? I am not sure it is going to be given up easily and though I have heard rumors that I act like a boy his age I do not care to test to see if he has magic powers on my personhood."

Wim had ideas on how to befriend the boy but his ideas were nowhere as powerful as a redheaded woman with green eyes.

Islana looked at Wim, he was probably right about the finger. Instead of trying to take it, the young woman pointed out their camp to the boy.

In a method that was a combination of pantomime and words, Islana spoke to the boy.

"We," making a circular motion with her finger, "all go over there." Pointing at the camp again.

She gently took the boy's hand and hoped he would come with her to the campsite.

Wolf thought about what he could say to the boy; his knowledge of his language was really basic. Between a word and motion with his hand, Wolf conveyed a friend as Islana walked with him. When they got the boy to camp. Wolf pulled out some jerky and water only small pieces he did not want to give the boy too much too fast and make the boy sick.

When the boy started to eat, Wolf helped Islana put water on some cloth and started to wipe his face and body off. When the boy was calm Wolf asked the boy his name or just said the word name.

Wolf looked at the finger bone looking for any writing on it or flesh left behind.

Islana walked with the boy, she kept her voice and tone gentle.

Once at the campsite, it was easy enough to clean the boy as best as they could, with him being distracted by the food.

She knew Boyce had limited knowledge of the language but was hoping the man could get at least a little information out of the boy.

Wim smiled at the boy and shook his head. At thirteen you could be married and the boy would take being doted on for a while. But he was not a baby, nearly a man.

With the boy having eaten some of the jerky, Islana realized he probably needed more food. She got him some dried meats and cheeses and gave them to the boy.

Maybe she was babying him but the boy had apparently been through something traumatic, Islana could certainly emphasize with that.

Looking at the two men, Islana asked, "So, any suggestions on what we should do regarding our new guest?"

Even if the boy had family left, which Islana realized wasn't likely, it might be impossible to find them.
