Always More To Do

Jp with Redsword and Cindy

By the team arrived home, it was nearing dinner time. Elizabeth was grateful that Greta determined a buffet style meal was optional, given the circumstances. Elizabeth had the staff let everyone know, asked that two trays be brought to her room and then went upstairs with Elise.

The two didn't reappear to almost two hours later, Elizabeth was now clean, changed and her ribs were fairly healed, but she knew she would need to take it easy the next day and would likely be sore for a while.

Marcil had been invited to wait, in the house and have some dinner which he easily agreed to. So, Elizabeth thanked both Elise and Marcil before showing them out.

Elizabeth was tired but the day wasn't done, she had Harold fetch Sung, while she waited in her office. First meetings would usually be with him.

Sung enters the office the room giving a bow to Elizabeth. The office was sparsely decorated but the furniture was plush and of fine quality. Sung sat opposite Elizabeth placing his tea cup on the little plate on the table beside him. "My Lady, how can I help you?" asked Sung in a polite tone.

"Mr. Sung, I wanted you to be aware of a few situations that Mr. Cronk and myself found out about today." Elizabeth assumed Sung would know she was not talking about fighting the monster because he was there for that.

"As you are aware Mr. Cronk and myself, originally, went to survey the damage to the Exposition. That led us to follow a man, who as it turned out, was meeting Lamaire. We managed to get the man to not take the serium, but a mouse wasn't so lucky, Dr. Jackal has the specimen. Lemaire, escaped, obviously. The man told us he got Lemaire's name from a Sokratis Staniadis. We went looking for Mr. Staniadis." Right at this point, one of the servants came in with tea which was offered to both of them. Elizabeth took some tea, and sipped it before continuing. "We ran into a group of boys and a hudu, who tried to rob me. Of course, they weren't successful. They told me a man would hurt them if they didn't comply, so Mr. Cronk and myself took a side trek to find this man. The man, was in a warehouse, he did not see us but I saw him. It was, none other than, Mr. William Sable."

"William Sable?" Sung paused thinking "I am not and at the same time surprised. What would you like to do about it? My Lady," asked Sung. He was not fond of the man. Sung really wanted to just go and drag him before the magistrate. Sung would like nothing better to deal with him. But politically would not be a good move for Sung anyways. He would wait to see what Lady Elizabeth says.

"We informed the police who said they would, in the words of the head inspector, "take care of it." However, we both know that could mean something or nothing." Elizabeth was not naive about the police sometimes just looking the other way. "But we do have other important matters to contend with. I say we give the police a few days and then check to see if anything was actually done about the situation. " For a while, Sable had had Elizabeth wrapped around his finger. She was younger than though. Elizabeth never knew about his schemes until everyone else found out. She learned to far more cautious as to men who she gave time to. "If it has not been taken care of, then we will do it ourselves."

Sung took a sip of his tea " If we deal with him under what authority do we have to do that? we are not the magistrate or police. Could your father or you get us a warrant for him? He is nobility so it would take nobility to get a warrant for Mr. Sable? if I am correct," Questioned Sung. He was not sure of all the laws and only what he has seen or dealt with the Ellington family and house. "BesidesMr. Sable does not have the influence he once had with you. If I have anything to do with that it will never happen again." expressed Sung.

He rubbed his shoulder some as it ache. "I am getting old," commented Sung with a smile. "For Lamaire I think he ran past me just after the beast showed up but disappeared into the crowd before I could do anything and the beast was a distraction. I will not underestimate his monsters again or him. Cronk is a force to be reckoned with. I am glad Cronk was there and Mis. Lagrave. I think we need to ask more questions of Mis. Lagrave about the monsters and how to capture one or stop it," expressed Sung.

"I am certain my father, could handle the legality of all of it. I am not sure where Mr. Sable falls in the needing nobility to issue a warrant, as it's my understanding he already has several against him. He also lost his title, which means I and any other noble outranks him." Elizabeth looked at Sung, "You needn't worry, he won't have that power again." Said with an air of confidence. "We will give the authorities a chance and then, if they do not do anything, concern ourselves more on the matter."

"Now, on to another matter. We did eventually find Sokratis Staniadis. Mr. Cronk went into speak with him under the ruse that he had business with Lemaire, related to his former boss. I hid and then went searching for clues. One could certainly say I found one, an underground temple. I believe it is a temple for the Children of The Sea. Mr. Cronk’s meeting - shall we just say, went poorly. Mr. Cronk, however, was able to get a statue from Staniadis' desk, however it was broken in the fight with the monster. I saw a similar statue in the temple. I am hoping Mr. Aster was able to gather more information about the cult, to piece together what I saw." Elizabeth shifted in her seat, due to her own soreness.

"We are making progress then. But we are also making our team a target I think as we uncover things. So we should start to be extra careful. If Mr. Lamaire has any sense he will know that we are not too far behind him. He will also know we can take down his creations. now for the temple for the Children of The Sea. We now know they are active but do we know how they tie into all of this with Mr. Lamaire?" said Sung pausing to drink some tea.

"We did not have the same eventful day we did talk to one of Dumont's dock contact and he also had a suspicion that Lamaire's supplies were coming through the docks by ship. But before we could get any proof The dockmaster was killed by the Monster," explained Sung.

"Yes, I think we might want to let the staff know to be careful as well, though we obviously cannot give details. It is puzzling just how Lemaire fits into all of this, but it is all connected in some way.

So, we need a plan. A way to make sure the members of the team that will be on the dangerous side of things, knows what to do with not just Lemaire's creation but in the unfortunate event that Dr. Jackal changes again. We should tell them to meet at lunch time tomorrow, during the individual meetings today. That would be Miss Lagrave, Mr. Dumont, Mr. Cronk and, of course, yourself and me."

Elizabeth listened to what Cronk said about the docks, "Well, maybe we can come up with a way to get more information about that as well." The Eldren paused, "I do believe we should do the individual meetings now. Let's start with Miss Lavigne, I believe her report should be quick. " Elizabeth hit a button under her desk and Harold arrived not long after, he was fetched with getting Lily.
