Midday

Dr. Jackal was indeed stirring, waking up, very slowly. While groggy it was different than waking up from being drugged, magical sleep took a while to lift completely but there was nothing like the dry mouth or some of the side effects that accompanied a drugging.

He was chained to the bed, the magic on the chains not dissipated. He was, for the moment, still Dr. Jackal but the demon could be felt from within.

Dr. Jackal stirred himself awake as he heard a dog growling nearby. he thought it was the neighbors dog at first as he was annoyed by it. Then as his mind began to recall the past events he soon realized the growling was not from a dog, but from his inner demon better known as Big Red. It was cranky again and wanted out. Poor Dr. Jackal was no unable to sleep as the loud beastly growling and yelling made his head hurt. He felt his heart race as the pressure was building up in his heart and brain. It felt like Big Red was going to come out at anytime but something was keeping him from doing that. It was almost like he was imprisoned and beating at his cage. As he looked around he saw Lily moving toward him with very concerning eyes. She checked him over and she told him what had happened so far. Lily was doing her best to comfort Dr. Jackal as he father watched them. She introduced her father to Dr. Jackal and then told him what she had told her captors so he would be on the same story line. Dr. Jackal was good about not blurting out secrets since he had a lot of them. He let lily know that Big Red could come out at anytime and to escape when it

Wayne watched Dr. Jackal and his daughter interact. He could see Lily cared for the good doctor. He realized in that moment how much more adult she was than what he had expected. Had he lost her? Had he been such a bad father that their relationship wasn't mendable? He internally hoped not.

"Dr. Jackal," Wayne finally spoke after several moments of silence. "Are you in need of water? We can help you drink some." He doubted Jackal's chains could be unlocked but they could figure out something.

Dr. Jackal looked at Wayne for a moment then at Lily to see her give a slight nod before he replied, "Yes please. Sorry for the late introduction Mr. Lavigne. Last we met you were being kidnapped. How are you holding up?" Dr. Jackal looked around the room to get his bearings as he waited for a reply.

"I am fairing well, all things considered." Wayne replied, as he poured some water into a cup, then asked Dr. Jackal, "Can you raise your head, at all?"

Jackal tried to lift his head but felt a bit of strain from his position. Then he replied, "Just a bit." Lily saw the good doctor was uncomfortable and looked at her father a she took the glass of water and said, "Thank you." She then helped the good doctor lift his head to sip some water. After a few sips Jackal felt his throat clear up a bit. He then said to Mr. Wayne, "I do apologize if I have to listen to any personal conversations Mr. Wayne. However I am unable to move about."

"It is quite alright, Doctor." Wayne wasn't thinking he would be speaking of private things in front of this stranger. "Lily, perhaps we should try to find something to pick the lock to Dr. Jackal's chains, the spell on it will fade eventually. If we get lucky we might be able to catch when that happens and unlock him before that mage returns." He paused. "I realize all of that is a long shot but it's all we have."

Lily looked at her father then back at the chains holding Dr. Jackal prisoner as she pondered her options. She looked around for any tools to use but found nothing of use then looked at her father as she asked, "Unless you have anything you managed to hide from our captors, I don't have any means to unlock these shackles." Lily was hoping her father might have a hidden tool of sorts.

"Unfortunately, I do not. I was searched upon my arrival here, anything I had on me was taken at that time." Wayne could find nothing else to use. "My apologies we cannot do much else for you, Dr. Jackal."

Dr. Jackal seemed a bit disappointed but he was not expecting much anyway. However Lily looked at her father with a snarky expression as she replied, "Really father?? Why make a suggestion like that if you had no means to make it work? I am sure they already stole anything we could use to escape already by now. For a moment I thought you really had a way to remove the shackles." Lily sighed as she tried to examine the shackles a bit.

"It was better than over looking something," Wayne replied. "I would be surprised if that French mage isn't back before then to reinforce both the chains and the door." The suggestion had been more of an almost reflex, like someone who is bound trying to fight their way out. Not a sliver of a chance but people do it anyway.

Without much to do, Lily's father sat back down. "Well, I do not believe this is trip to Paris any of us had planned." He took a breath. "Dr. Jackal I am pretty certain why they are holding Lily and myself but do you have any idea why they kidnapped you?"

Dr. Jackal smirked as Lily's father finally asked a big question. Lily had a concerned look on her face as she looked at Dr. Jackal. Jackal could see that he needed to watch what he said as a response. So he sighed and replied, "They are after my research. Apparently one of our captors is a petty and foolish excuse for a scientist and wants to copy my research since he is unable to make his own mark on the science community. The irony of this whole thing is he manage to steal my notes and is still to incompetent to duplicate my work. So he became desperate and is now trying to torture me till I hold his hand like a big baby and walk him through each meticulous step. I barely knew him from the past since he had such a weak presence like a stale emission, but as I recall his name was Dr. Latrine. I remember it because he resembled a toilet when he opened his mouth. Honestly I have no idea how he even graduated the university much less acquired his doctrine. Perhaps he bought them under the table?" Dr. Jackal gave Lily a smirk and she almost giggled at his comment, but held her composure.

"Oh, yes, that Dr. Lamaire fellow." Wayne quickly surmised who Jackal was discussing. "He is a rather unpleasant fellow. His father though seems to have a hold over him.," Wayne commented

Dr. Jackal smirked as he replied, "Perhaps. The jury is still out on that fella. To be honest I have a bad feeling the two of them will doing something monumentally foolish with my research and create a lot of chaos." Lily seemed worried by the good doctor's words as he gestured to her that his blood was taken. Lily replied, "Oh bullocks. As if things were not bad enough." Lily then rubbed her temples as she was getting a headache from this whole situation. Dr. Jackal looked at Lily in distress then at the ceiling before he sighed.

"It is a little odd, no has been in here in a while." Wayne said. He was beginning to wonder if something might be going on.

Dr. Jackal replied, "Well they are either up to no good, they hurt themselves trying to use my research or worse they manage to piss off to many people and are fighting them as we speak." Lily almost snickered at the response of the good doctor but was still worried they might be able to make monsters like one inside the good doctor. She replied, "Either way things look bad for us."

From inside the room, the sound of bells could be heard going off.

A man not much older than Lily, ducks into the room. You've seen him before, as he is guard stationed outside your room. He's waving around a gun, and seems to be panicking.

After seeing the guard in a panicked state and hiding from something outside the room, Lily and Dr. Jackal looked at each other and whispered to each other. Lily whispered, "Do you think its them?" Dr. Jackal whispered back, "Sounds like it. Our green friend has that effect on people." Lily almost smirked as she quickly thought of Mr. Cronk on a rampage. Then they looked at Lily's father and then at the guard as Dr. Jackal asked, "Let me guess........Dr. Latrine botched another experiment and its running loose now eh?" Dr. Jackal had an annoyed expression on his face as he looked at the nervous guard.

"Shut up, all of you...or I'll.....I'll shoot." He doesn't sound very convincing, but he moves towards Lily. "You. - Miss - you come with me and I won't hurt anyone."

Wayne slowly begins to approach the man, "What's your name?"

"Oliver," the young man said back.

"Well, Oliver lets talk about this. Think about what your doing, do you not think that taking one of us might be a bad idea." Wayne said, in a calming tone.

Lily was not into being used as a hostage at any point. So she replied, "You know that Dr. Lemaire was keeping us alive for very good reasons." Dr. Jackal then butted in as he replied, "Besides if its one of his experiments on the loose having a hostage is pointless. You are better off hiding in here till they can capture it." Dr. Jackal was playing the monster card to get the guard to reveal more info on what was really going on outside.

It was probably the most Dr. Lamaire had run since he was a child, the blood was dripping from his now gone fingers, leaving a trail on the ground.

Figuring he was far enough ahead, the doctor opened the door to a room.

Lamaire burst into the room, seeing Oliver there unsure of what to do. He firmly said, "Take the girl, leave the others."

"But. .but..." Oliver stammered

"Plans change, boy. Do as your told - or you'll have others to answer to." Lamaire said

Oliver moved quickly to grab Lily but Wayne stepped in front of him, the two wrestled for mere moments before the gun went off.
