The Visage's Ownership pt.1

"Rive Droite," Tristin said as they drove along in the stream powered coach. His smile was as wide as ever.
This was the high part of Paris.
"Musée de Art Moderne, and Musée de l’Orangerie, and of course Café des Deux Magots," Tristin said as they chugged through the streets.
The look on his face showed that Tristin had some fond memories as a student on holiday.
"Where would you like to start?" The young noble asked.

Vor had to concentrate to piece together the French language, only a few days ago starting to learn it. Even the titles of places could confuse him.
It didn’t help his thoughts that he had been paired with a thief. It didn’t sit well with him and his lack of a similar cheer to his partner showed it. Pouting and doubting wouldn’t help them though, so he focused on their task.

“Wherever they have older works, I’m not terribly familiar where that would be however. The robbery occurred before I could reach the main buildings. Would you have any familiarity with the area?”

"I think we should go investigate the crime scene and work our way to the Cafe for lunch," Tristen said. He could sense Vor's apprehension towards him.
"My parents are big in the opium trade between England and China," Tristin said.
"With that comes a lot of crime. This has been what is saving my family. Merlin had stripped my family of their holdings in England before he died," Tristen added still smiling.

"In India I was left with little supervision," He added.
'When my family figured out what I had been learning and doing, they sent me off to a boarding school in the south of France," Tristin continued.
"It was not long before opportunities came and I was working the mainland.. They myth of an independent rogue is far from true. Someone is always trying to blackmail you with threats of violence against your family and friends. The order is giving me a chance to get out of that life, " Tristin stated.

Vor glossed over much of the backstory while he thought of a plan, only holding on to the last bit. He could respect someone looking for clean sands, this man hoping the Order would act as purifying waters.
A part of him still couldn’t believe he was doing this. That he had apparently bound himself to a hidden organization and were now looking to stop an insane scientist. He was glad he had been given a task right away to keep his mind off of the implications.

“I agree. Looking about the robbery scene might prove lucrative and we may even run into the owner of the Visage, IF the local Surete have even contacted them.”

He looked out to the streets, idly wondering who among them was a part of this secret war or if they even had an idea of it at all. If he hadn’t known, then probably nome of them, but it was a sensational thought that he left to fester for future works.

As Vor went back to his thoughts, Tristin stood and slid open a small door to the driver and spoke to the driver in French, "Take us to the Exposition."
Clearly, Vor thought little of him. This troubled Tristin. There was little that he could do about it. People made decisions based on perception rather than facts. It was how a conman made his living. Getting people to believe and disregard the facts in front of them.
Opening his pocket watch and looked at a picture and then the time. They putting it into his vest pocket he touching his other pockets felling that his guns in their proper places then he sat down.Picking up the morning paper and started to read the news. Most of the time it was wrong, still it often gave one clues about what really happened.

Seeing the nonchalant nature of his partner began to put Vor at ease, despite his better judgement. Besides, there was an artistic potential behind a man looking for redemption that struck a chord in him. While he couldn't trust the man farther than he could throw him, they might as well play nice as Lady Ellington had said, so he adjusted himself to face the rogue.
"What do you plan to do with your freedom then?"
