Time to go

Who: Joe Craggins
Where: Nuclea museaum in Siberean Mountains
When: After last post
Joe woke up with a start. Where was he? "Oh yes, I remember now" he
said to himsel. Hed come in here for selter and a radio. He had
wondered into a massive storeroom piled high with canned food. In a
back room he had found a small radio with maps and charts with the
poisition of the museam marked on them. He had operated the radio,
left a message giving the coordinates of the museam and that he was
lying low till the storm passed. After that he had settled down into
the radio operators chair and gone to sleep. That was four hours ago.
He got up, his back stiff and aching from being in the chair. As he
stood up, he brushed against thge deck and something shiny fell to the
floor with a clink. He bent down and found it was a key ring with 5
diffrent keys on. "Outside toliet, Snowmobile garage, Snowmobile, Main
door museam key and Spare toliet door key" were marked on them on
sticky labels. The snowmobile is what he needed. He walked back out
into the storeroom, walked up and down the aisles untill he came to a
rorough Iron door. There was a sign saying "Toliets, through here".
Wrong door. He walked up some more aisles till he came to a simalar
door saying "Garage, authorized personall only" in both English and
Russien. He flicked through the keys and unlocked the door. Inside
was a cavernous garage that more resembaled an aircraft hanger than a
garage. A solitrly snowmobile with a trailer with a cloth ontop
attached. He found a few cushioned seats, for passengers. Handy. He
walked to the garage door and pressed a buttun. Thehuge door slowly
lifted upwards and an icy wind blew in, but Joe could see the snow had
stopped almost completely and a thick coating of snow covered the
ground. Perfect. He got on the snowmobile, put thekey in the ignition
and turned it. It made a rough grating noise and didn't start. He
looked at the fuel gauge and the red line pointed to E, for empty.
Great. He glanced round and noticed a near invisible shelf with tanks
of fuel on. He walked over and piccked up a few. Most were empty or
near empty, untill he got to the last one which felt quite heavy. He
carried it back found the fuel cap and poured it in, wiping his fuel
stained hands on his coat. He got back on the snowmobile and tried the
ignition again, the engine purred soundly. Joe reashed the throttle,
mapped a course to the ship and sped off, pulling the trailer behind
him. Suddenly he heard gunshots near him. The bounty hunters! They
must have found the others! He turned the snowmobile round and drove
off in the direction they came from. A little bit later, he saw Jay
shot down and Katrina dragging him. Joe caught up with them. "Hop in!"
He indicated to the trailer and helped her lift himinto the trailer
before starting off. Suddenly a Jeep carrered round the corner in
front of them. Joe sped up. The two vechiles sped towards each other.
At the last second, the Jeep careared off, leaving their way
clear. "Chicken!" Joe called as they sped past them. "Easy on the
driving!" Katrina called. "Sorry, Im still learning how to drive this
thing! Time were getting back to the ship!" And they drove off at full
speed.
