Re: Efof - \"Left behind\" pt 3

He quickly ran to her and put his arm around her and helped her
through the blast door and into an escape pod.
The pod launched moments before the Ffionian ship exploded.
"So. Was there anything you wanted to say to me on the Bridge?" She asked.
Efof came over all warm and cold at the same time. He felt her
penetrating gaze burning into him again.
"Erm... erm..." he started. "No. Nothing." He finished with a sigh and
hung his head.
"Good." she said in a satisfactory manor, and the two sat in silence
until they were rescued.

Who: Efof and Fferna
Where: New Ffion
When: After they were rescued
Fferna dragged Efof through the streets to her house. "This will be
great!" She sang chirpily. "You can move in with me!"
Efof walked a few steps behind, not sharing her enthusiasm. He had his
hands in the pockets of his baggy shorts, and his shoulders sagged.
Efof kicked the floor. "Yes dear." he said.
"We can share the responsibilities. I can clean, and you can cook!"
she clasped her hands together in playful dreams. "And soon, there
might be the pitter patter of tiny Ffionian feet!" as she said that,
she walked her fingers over his shoulders playfully. "That sounds
great doesn't it?!"
"Marvellous." Said Efof with a fake smile.
Efof was normally enthusiastic about anything. He had lived on a
crummy, leaking rustbucket of a spaceship with menial facilities for 7
years, and was happily enthusiastic about every part of it. Now that
he had something to be enthusiastic about, a girlfriend, being
reunited with his people, he just wasn't.
Living amongst Ffionians again was a bit of a fallacy, he looked
around at the buildings and now understood why the architecture was so
odd. The Ffionians had stolen the world from some other poor race of
people. When Fferna had explained that to him she had happily retold
him the stories of her courageous slaughter of hundreds of the
inhabitants. Efof had wanted to say many things, but being such a
coward when it came to confrontational situations, he just bit his lip.
Efof realised he couldn't hold his lip anymore. He scrunched up his
eyes and "You know Fferna... as much as I like you... as I like being
here. I don't think we should... see each other anymore."
He opened his eyes to see her reaction.
She wasn't there, she had bounded off to an ice cream van. "Look, ice
cream! Do you want one?" she said excitedly.
Efof sighed. Normally he would be so excited about ice cream he would
have danced over and jumped up and down until he got one. "I think
I'm alright." he said and put his hands in his pockets again.
"Were you saying something back there?" she asked.
"No dear. Nothing." he said.
For the entire day Fferna dragged him to places of interest in the
city. Efof gladly went along, but all the time looked miserable and
depressed. Fferna for her part didn't even notice. She just dragged
him to more places.
The next day she took him for an entire day's worth of shoe shopping.
Efof just came along in silent protest.
That evening he tried again. In "their" apartment, he stood outside
her bedroom and let out a long sentence of how he wasn't happy with
their relationship, and he wanted change, and most importantly how he
thought they were too different, with her being a mass murderer and
him... not being a mass murderer.
"I'm sorry sweetie I can't hear you!" Fferna called from inside the
room, and stood at the door. She was wearing the most sexiest lingerie
that Efof had ever seen. His jaw dropped to the floor.
"It... wasn't important." he said, and entered the room, shutting the
door.
The next day Fferna tidied her cupboard and brought out a box of old
oddities and trickets. She pulled out a stuffed head mounted on a wall
plate. "Shall I hang this up on the wall?" She asked Efof, who was
laid forlornly on the settee.
"What is that?" Efof said disgusted.
"it's the Great Purple Squirrel, we ransacked his world three years
ago. I kept this as a souvenir!"
----------------------
Efof and Fferna sat opposite each other in a dark office. The
Relationship Guidance counsellor sat between them, fidgetting in the
awkward silence. "So, what is the source of conflict between you both?"
Fferna started to cry. "I don't know. I thought he loved me!"
Efof sympathised for her, but looked plainly at the counsellor. "Look
doc, It's perfectly simple. Fferna gets a kick out of mass murdering
innocent people. But I don't."
The counsellor was shocked by the accusation. But he still faced Efof.
"You seriously mean to say you've never murdered anyone?"
"What?! No of course not!"
"..Never heard the cry of an innocent before you put an end to their
life?"
"No!"
"Never enjoyed feeling the warm blood on your hands?"
"Alright, that's it. This place is too twisted for me. You people are
just wierdos!" Efof stood up and walked out of the office, leaving
Fferna sobbing.
"You see how he treats me?" She cried into her hands.
"There there" said the counselor. "I'll go get you a knife so you can
go sacrifice him. I think you deserve it."
Fferna wiped the tears away. "Thank you doctor. I think that will make
me feel better."
