He wanted to go back to the Blue Dwarf. Sure it was a ship full of
slackers and twats, but they were his favourite slackers and twats.

Efof wanted to go home.
He raced to the city spaceport and slid along the marble floor of the
reception area. He could see through the thick glass windows several
spacecraft preparing for takeoff.
"I'll take the first transport ship available please" he said
politely, but hurriedly.
"Have you booked?" asked the woman at the desk.
Efof looked behind him, Fferna was only minutes away. "Booked? No."
"Then you'll have to book. Space travel isn't like just getting on a
bus you know." the woman said through her nose at him.
"Yes it is! There's a space bus over there!" he said.
"Yes... well... you need to book it! - hello?"
She looked around but Efof had already ran off.
He ran onto the runway area, which was a large expanse of concrete
outside where hundreds of spaceships landed and took off every hour.
He narrowly avoided being blown away by a ship taking off, and almost
ran into the path of another one landing.
One of those men with the table tennis bats waved at him but Efof
ignored him. He saw a small unguarded ship at the end of the runway
and made it his goal. He was so lucky to find such a good getaway
vehicle, almost all other ships were guarded or had been clamped to
the ground.
He squinted at it. It wasn't a beautiful ship, but it would have to do.
In fact it was a pretty ugly looking ship.
In fact it was the most ugly ship he had ever seen, it looked like a
giant poo.
Efof ran up to it and climbed inside. It was much larger than a Space
Eagle but slightly smaller than a Starbug. It was a trading ship, but
he had never seen the type before. He immediately assumed it was some
alien trader, or possibly tourist. It was obviously owned by an alien
with bad taste in spaceships, it was the only thing he'd seen that was
more hideous than a volvo.
He found what passed for the cockpit and jabbed some buttons at
random. "Eww, what's this?" He said, scrunching his face up. He
pulled his hand away, everything in the ship was covered a sticky slime.
He wiped his hands on his trousers, and as he did so he looked out of
the window to see Fferna crossing the runway towards him. "Uh oh, no
time to change ships now!" he said, and cringed as he pressed a few
more buttons and gingerly held the pilot's wheel.
The ship rumbled and roared into life. Efof could see Fferna on the
runway pressing her hand up to her face to shield herself from the
gush of air coming from the engines.
Efof looked out at her. He felt sad that things had ended like this,
for a few weeks he had been totally captivated by her, and would have
done anything she said... in fact he did do everything she said, he
was her personal slave. But Efof wasn't one to hold grudges, sure she
was a psychopathic murderer but for a while they really had something.
He grinned and waved at her as he flew off into the sky.
