good old Sodium Chloride crystals

"Come on! we need to help get people out of here!" Wildflower called,
picking up a rock and beginning to break her way into a nearby
blender that hadn't activated yet, the nameless crewmembers inside
screamed, and tried to force their way higher, away from the blades
which could begin spinning at any moment. Rosette watched as Rufus
knelt in front of a broken blender, not moving a muscle.
in front of him, banging against the side of the now broken blender
was a well built man, approaching them, Rosette could hear crying, in
some form or another... She got closer, only to see the torn arm of
someone lying on front of Rufus, and he was staring at it.
"oh god no..." she thought, kneeling down beside him.
"are... are you ok rufus?" she asked, but the young genius just
stared down at the arm, tears pouring down his face. She almost felt
like crying herself, seeing all these crewmembers killed so
needlessly... almost a new family to her, after losing her own... and
now losing alot of them before she even got to meet them.
She stood up slowly, and turned towards the man bashing on the side
of the blender. "excuse me?" she asked, "are you ok?..." she said,
the natural thing to ask when you see someone crying, even though
everyone knows the answer. All she got in reply was a shout masked
by tears that she could hardly understand, though she got the vague
feeling that it was something along the lines of
"NO I'M NOT SMEGGING ALRIGHT!"
Leaving them to themselves, not wanting to make things any worse, she
turned away, her mind whirring as fast as it could, trying to find a
way to save everyone. From the sky, a blue midget roared through the
dense atmosphere, the retro-rockets blasting a group of slugs into
raisins, landed. A group of robots appeared at the open door,
signalling the beginning of the real defense. Running over to them,
she was almost able to smile, seeing that each one of them... a
normally harmless skutter... was carrying some form of large gun,
blasting their way through the masses of slugs.
That's when it hit her, like a wave smashing into her, her memories
of stowing away on the Blue Dwarf gave her the idea of a lifetime.
"SALT!" she yelled, having seen so many thousands of containers full
of it on the storage decks of the 'Dwarf. She ran up to the group of
robots, "We need to get salt!" she said, the largest of the skutters,
with a pulsing red eye looked almost menacingly at her.
