Home is where your past is.

“We’ve gotta stop the weapon!” Alota said, getting to her feet. She wasstill weak from her beating’s earlier, and walked with a limp over to thecontrol panel.“WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?!” Amber asked looking over from her station.“Er..” Jay said “I’m calling off the attack…withdraw your fighters, that’san order!”Amber thought for a second, then realised she could no longer hear Jay’sthought’s within the hive.“LIAR! SHE’S TURNED YOU AGAINST US!”“NO!” Jay replied, “I just…”His protests were too late; Amber had drawn her weapon and fired. The bullet, piercing through the front of Alota’s chest, and out the otherside. Jay watched as she fell to the ground.

Jay woke with a start, a cold sweat trickling down his face and back. He glanced around the room, getting his bearings, and then to his right to see Katrina sleeping soundly beside him. A quick glance at the clock beside his bed told him it was 2:00 am. He’d slept for a whole hour…great…it had taken him long enough to get to sleep in the first place.
It had been a long time since Jay had had nightmares about what happened three years ago. When the Hymenoptera tricked him into becoming their ambassador to the Space Corp, and linking him with the hive so that the remnants of his doppelganger’s consciousness could slowly take a hold, pushing out Jay’s own mind and replacing it with his own.  Funny, Alota’s ship had appeared in Jay’s universe almost three years to the day since the Evil Jay’s most devastating attack. The attack in which his Alota had been killed. Jay got out of bed and walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water. When he’d first been offered the position of Captain, he’d been reluctant to move back into the Captain’s quarters. He hadn’t been in there since moving out after Alota’s death and Calvert moving in. There were too many memories in here, too much to occupy his every waking thought. Katrina had eventually managed to convince him that what had happened to Alota was all behind him, that he’d moved on and for a while, she was right. Then Alota jumped right back into his life. Ok, so it was an alternate version of Alota, but it was an Alota from a universe that was directly branched off from his own. Jay wondered what had happened differently, what had stopped Alota being taken hostage by the Hymenoptera and having the Earth Defence Networks access codes being forcibly removed from the very recesses of her mind.

Jay brushed the dust out of his eyes and climbed back into bed, and held Katrina tightly to him. If Amber had been right about the Hymenoptera ship, then there was no way Jay was going to let him take Katrina from him as well.

*****elsewhere*****

“Please’st!” Proclaimed the bearded surgeon, the long chain shackling him to the wall clanking against the deckplate. “Thou prisoner hast had enougheth!”
“I will TELL you when he has had enough!” the surgeons captor rasped in response.
Doctor William Shakespeare, of universe #17 protested again earning himself a hard punch in the face.
“Let me remind you, doctor” said Universe #17’s Jay Chrysler, Ruler of the Hymenopteran Empire, stepping from the shadows “That you are only alive because it suits me.”
“Thou hast no choicest!” Shakespeare replied “Thou needeth mine skills ast thy physician, there art none others whoeth canst give thou what thoust needeth!”
“It is true that you’re not my first choice doctor. But that idiot, Keto got himself killed. But don’t think your inexpendable. I’m sure we could persuade my mother-in-law to take your place!”
“Tara wouldst not help thou!”
“Tara would do anything to save Rufus’ life, even if you wont save Wildflower’s.” Jay pointed to a monitor, as if to remind Shakespeare that he was not Jay’s only prisoner. The screen showed Jennifer Wildflower in a cell. She was hurt badly, having been beaten almost constantly for the last six months that she had been Jay’s prisoner.
“I’m sure, once my minions clear out the mess she’ll make when I kill her, that cell would make a nice place for Rufus to die in. It’s your choice Doctor, either get me what I want, or I’ll force you to watch while I kill Wildflower, and I can assure you that I’ll take my time over it. Then, when she finally gives up, when she finally realises that death is the only asylum she has from the perpetual agony she will be suffering, it will be your turn. And then we can start over again with Tara.”
Shakespeare said nothing, just went back to work.
“Emperor” came Ambers voice over the comm.
“Yes?”
“We have received a signal from one of our scout vessels, this might make your mission much easier, my love”
“I’ll be there shortly, my queen” Jay turned to exit the medical bay, then stopped as he reached the door and turned back to Shakespeare. "Let me know if he's....compatible as soon as you're finished."
"Yeseth, thou magnificent'st" Jay exited the room and Shakespeare turned back to what we has doing."Please...no more...." said a voice weakly."I am'st sorryeth mine friendeth...." said Shakespeare, sadly "But, I musteth....." with that, he jabbed an impossibly long syringe into his subjects stomach, who screamed in pain. The subject hung his head, it wasn't voluntary, he barely had the strength to keep it up anymore. He'd been here days, having brutal experiment after brutal experiment performed on him. It was agonising, but it just kept coming. Various assortments of tubes littered his body, some putting stuff in, some taking it out, he'd had body parts hacked off, sharp objects jabbed in to others, Why, oh why, could he not just be allowed to die....Shakespeare spoke again "I am'st truly sorryeth...pleaseth forgiveth me..."The subject said nothing, but found the effort to look up, and as Shakespeare looked back into the tired eyes of Lt. Cmdr  Jay Chrysler, he couldn't bring himself to face him, and turned away sharply.

Who:- Evil Jay, Evil Amber
Where;- The Thorax bridge
When:- After Amber called Jay

"What is it?" Jay demanded storming onto the bridge.
"Sorry to disturb you my love" his wife, Amber Chrysler, Queen of the Hymenoptera replied "I felt you would want to see this..."
Jay turned to face the main viewscreen as a Hymenopteran crew member brought the image up on the screen,
"Our scouts have discovered that this ship..."Blue Dwarf Prime" has a faulty P.E.N.I.S. module..."
"YOU BROUGHT ME UP HERE FOR THAT?"
"Patience my lord" Amber replied. "This fault has a caused a rift between realities, and as a result, the P.E.N.I.S modules in every single version of the Blue Dwarf are being drawn through the rift into the same place. Including, Captain Chryslers."
A smile crept across Jay's face.
"Can we follow them?"
"I've already adjusted the engines to cross the rift sire,....."
"Excellent....."
