Rosette - "Winging it"

<snip>
"A giant spider! It attacked me, and ran off that way! It took my clothes!" She
called. The guards couldn't see where the spider had gone, so stopped to help
the poor, defenseless woman. Pretty soon, a dress had been brought out for her,
and a bandage to do up over the wound. WIthin minutes, she looked like one of
the locals, and was escorted into the castle within the city to answer
questions...

"Did you see where the monster went?" The leader of the group asked.
"No... It jumped over the wall, and out of the city..." Rosette replied. She
was lying completely, but wanted to throw them off the scent. She looked a bit
like a peasant at the moment... her dress was brown and basic, and her hair had
been messed up during the recent events. Nevertheless, she stood up for
herself.
"Who are you? I don't remember any of you.." She said. Partly truthful, of
course. "Come to think of it.. I can't even remember who I am..." She added as
an afterthought. 'Heh. They won't be able to do anything if i can't remember'
she thought to herself.
"The monster stole your memory?" He asked. "Do you remember anything?"
"Yes... My name is... Rosette..." She said, and acted like she was trying really
hard to remember. "Rosette... LaChance?"
"I am William Brewer. Sheriff of Nottingham." The man responded to Rosette
offering her name. "LaChance? That was a french name, correct?" He asked, but
answered his question shortly after. "I believe it was a name stolen during the
last battles... Maybe you are their daughter?" He continued.
"Stolen?" Rosette asked. She had always been told her family were British
through and through.. Seems they were, but the name was stolen from the French.
"We will head to see the Prince in the morning. He will know if you are really
one of them. Your memory may return to you in the morning." He added, and
clapped his hands. Two guards flanked Rosette, and escorted her to a very well
decorated, and obviously expensive room. A better looking dress had been
prepared for her, fitting for someone of her bloodline.
"Thankyou, Mr. Brewer." Rosette said as she left the room, mentally doing a
backflip in victory. She'd made a life for herself here, and would be able to
hide until she could return to their real time...
"You know... I could quite easily ruin all of this for you..." said an
annoyingly familiar voice in her head.
