Brittany + Rosette "The trigger mechanism"

<snip>
Jay pushed Brittany and Rosette off in the same direction. "Why don't you go and find the item that's number 1 on the list. The map says it's not too far away."
Rosette grabbed Brittany by the hand. "Come with me, we'll get you some clothes to wear before you catch your death of cold."
"Awww, but I like the men staring at my boobs..." Brittany complained.

Who: Rosette and Queen Brittany
Where: Outside a very old looking oak tree
When: After they left jay's group on their own
Brittany looked at the digital map on the datapad she had been given. "I can't make any sense out of this." She admitted, and flung it towards Rosette. "Here. You have a look. I'm not into all this technobabble stuff."
Rosette took the pad and looked at it. She pointed to the large tree. It seemed old and dilapidated, each branch seemed to sag with weight that the tree wasn't able to sustain any more. Although the tree seemed to soldier on, as if waiting for it's moment of glory before finally dying.
"It says it's in the middle of that tree." She said.
They walked closer to the fat tree trunk, and found a large crack which seemed to lead inside.
"I'm not going in there!" Said Brittany.
"Why not?" Said Rosette.
"Hello!" Said Brittany, as if it was obvious. "There might be spiders and things. I'm a girl. You go."
"I'm a girl too!" Shouted Rosette.
"Oh yes, sorry I forgot. You act like such a tomboy."
"I'm... I'm wearing a dress!" Rosette defended herself.
"I know, I know. And it looks lovely. And from what I hear about you, it's actually a huge improvement. But you're still a way off darling. How about when we get back to the Blue Dwarf, I teach you how to polish your nails properly, and we need to do something with the dry skin on your face. Ooooh, we could do you a makeover!" Brittany squealed with excitement. Rosette screwed up her face in annoyance.
"I think I'll pass." Said Rosette.
"Awww, come on darling! You'll never get a man looking like that. Your hair is all wiry, your fingernails are dirty, and you could really use a bit of make-up, even if it's just some lippy!"
"Who says I want a man?"
"We're all looking for a man darling." Brittany said, and pinched Rosette in the side slightly. "I'm looking for a really rich one with lots of muscles.
"Oh?" Said Rosette. "What about Seymour? I always thought you two had a bit of a thing going on?"
"Seymour? Oh no. He's very sweet. And he's a bit rich, but he's just not my type. He's so full of himself!" Then she looked down at her shoes. "Oh no, look at my Dolce & Gabbana high-heels. Ruined!"
Rosette smirked. "I think you'd be perfect for each other!"
"Don't even go there girl!" Brittany warned her.
Rosette then felt something hit the back of her head. She turned around to see a short man with a long stick pointing at her. He wore blue warpaint all over his face.
"Hey, did you just hit me?" She asked.
"Yes! I am protecting the sacred number one." said the short man.
"Protecting the what?" Asked Brittany. For her question, she received a whack to the head too. Not enough to hurt her, but enough to sting a little. "Stop it you little man!" She said.
"I am protecting the number one." He pointed to the tree behind them. It had a number one carved into it's bark.
"Oh I see." Said Rosette. "Why?"
"The tree is sacred! Six hundred years ago, my great ancestor was told to guard the tree. It holds something very old, but is of great importance to the future." He said.
Rosette looked at Brittany, then at the short man. "That... is very true. Can I ask you why you are wearing blue face paint?"
"I am the last in the long chain of Blue Dwarves." He said. "My ancestor was told six hundred years ago to guard the tree until another Blue Dwarf came to see it. Only they could go inside."
Rosette nodded. "I see what's happened here. There's been a slight misunderstanding over the years." She pointed to herself and Brittany. "We are the Blue Dwarves. Well, we're from the Blue Dwarf. Your prophecy has come true."
The dwarf looked confused. He looked even more confused when Brittany stepped forward and said "Actually, I'm not from the Blue Dwarf. I just happened to be there when this whole annoying time travel thing happened."
"You must prove yourselves!" The angry short man said. "The prophecy told of two beautiful dwarves who would come to the tree and take off all their clothes." he said, and waited expectantly.
Brittany pushed Rosette back. "Leave this one to me." She stepped forward and unhinged her bra, which fell to the floor and exposed her bulging bosoms. The short man's jaw almost dropped to the ground.
"Wow." Was all he could manage. Then after a few minutes he laughed.
"Why so funny?" Rosette said, peering out from behind Brittany's naked body.
"Because that wasn't in the prophecy at all!" The short man admitted. "I just wanted to see if you'd do it! That was amazing though, I've got that image stored in the bank!"
"Why you dirty little pervert!" Brittany said, and took a quick step towards the little man, and kicked him so hard that he flew out of their sight. She put her clothes back on and turned to Rosette, who was smirking.
"Say nothing!" Brittany warned her. "But at least I got him out of the way. What's in the tree?"
Rosette slid into the crack in the tree trunk and soon emerged with a metallic device about the size of her hand. It looked like a complicated mechanism. She turned it over and over in her hands. "I have no idea what it is." She said.
"It's a trigger mechanism." Brittany said, stunning Rosette into silence.
"How the hell do you know that? You're not a scientist!"
Brittany shrugged. "Darling, it says it on the side!"
"Oh."
They took the device back to the Captain.
