Running on Empty

Alternate Jaxx (Anubis) was about to reply when he saw Hasina with some of Jaxx’s crew members. Alternate Jaxx (Anubis) then replied, “First we gather your team together and then we engage Seymour’s plan. For now keep your mouth shut in public and follow my lead. We will need to get your Evelina first.” With that Alternate Jaxx (Anubis) tapped into his armband and spoke in a weird language. (Translated: Find the slave that was wearing the blue armor and bring her and all her belongings to the guest Quarters on the fourth tier in the West wing.) Then Alternate Jaxx (Anubis) looked at Jaxx and said, “Keep your helmet on and rest on the chair till Evelina is brought up and for your own protection don’t talk to anyone.” Then Alternate Jaxx (Anubis) reached into his pouch and pulled out a small disc and flipped up Jaxx’s visor to insert it on his forhead. Alternate Jaxx (Anubis) said, “This will jam any psionic attacks on you for now. I need to check on a few things so wait here for your Evelina and please keep your voices to a whisper just in case.” Then Alternate Jaxx (Anubis) closed the visor and pushed his chest button to activate his jackal helmet.

After a slight wait Evelina was escorted by some servants to Jaxx’s room, Evelina was wearing a black harem girl outfit with some golden jewelry on her arms, neck, waist and forehead. She was a little tired from the device on her arm as she followed the servants to the door. One servant opened the door and brought Evelina to her knees before Jaxx as the others brought her belongings in a bag behind her. One servant spoke, “Master Is this the one you requested?” Jaxx nodded. The same servant then asked, “Would the Master have any other requests?” Jaxx shook his head no and shooed the servants away with a wave of his hand. After the servants bowed and left Jaxx followed them and made sure they were gone before he shut the door.

Then Jaxx quickly slid before the worn out Evelina and flipped up his visor to show her his face. Evelina was having trouble seeing as she muttered, “Jaxx? Is that you?” Jaxx fought the urge to shed tears as Evelina’s voice sounded in pain, before answering, “Yeah Eve babe its me. Your gonna be ok now Eve babe, but you like have to totally pretend to be my servant babe in front of everyone else so we can escape. Ok?” Evelina muttered, “Ok, but I don’t feel so good Jaxx.” Jaxx picked up the weakened Evelina and placed her on the bed and then picked up a pitcher of water and a cup to serve her. Jaxx held Evelina’s head up as he encouraged her to drink as much water as she could handle before letting her rest on the bed. Then Jaxx sat next to Evelina on the bed and held her hand as he waited for Alternate Jaxx aka Anubis to return.
