Jade smiled to herself at how silly she looked. Lying in a doorway, singing to a locked door.

"When you feel all alone, and a loyal friend is hard to find. You're caught in a one way street, with the monsters in your head..."

"I guess you're not singing about Cass..." Jamie said as he walked down the corridor.

Jade stopped singing for a moment, and looked up.

"What are you doing up at this hour?" She asked.

"Probably the same as you. I can't sleep." He replied, and sat down in the corridor, facing Jade. He purposefully ignored the wimpering that he swore was coming from behind the door Jade was sat against. "Got anything that needs doing? I want something to take my mind off of everything."

"Oh... The light died in my quarters?" Jade hazarded. "No rush though." she added, trying to keep face and hide the fact that she was scared of the dark.

"Can I tell you something?" Jamie asked, "in confidence, of course..."

"Let me give you the medical you need, and we can call it Doctor Patient Confidentiality." She said, with a grin.

Jamie nodded slowly. "I'm going to miss Cass. I want to get her back."

"We all want to get her back." Jade said. "Do you think any differently to us?"

"When we were affected by the bugs in the swamp... she kissed me." Jamie admitted, even though Cass had sworn him to secrecy.

"Oh?" She asked, curiosity piqued.

"Yeah. I don't know how she's done everything she's done... I can respect that. But I spent a long time on Fernandos... With no other humans...." he said, trailing off.

Jade raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I know. I'll be doing all the repairs I can on the ship, I figure we'll need it in top shape to get her back."

Jade sighed. "You wanted to talk to Alex about that, didn't you?"

"Yeah. If he won't talk to you, I doubt I've got a chance. Give me a call when you're ready, and I'll show up for that medical... I'll check the lights for you too." He said, and got up.

"Don't sleep in the corridor. I've heard stories of skutters having fun..." He said, and wandered off.
