Action post
"The first Away mission"
0800 hours
 
Commander Seymore Niples walked up to the Captain's quarters and pressed the doorbuzzer.
Silence.
He pressed the buzzer again and heard some fumbling inside, the door then slid open and the Captain stood there wearing his Pyjamas.
"Sir, we're leaving for the planets surface in 20 minutes, I thought you wanted to come."
Captain Cannon suddenly remembered about the mission to invesigate the planet. "Yes, of course." he said "I'll meet you in the docking bay in ten minutes.
 
Meanwhile Major Harris was dragging a large case towards the shuttle, on his way he met the scientist Mahok Yolandon who helped him carry the heavy object. The two discussed Mahok's upbringing on a Gelf planet, and Harris unappropriately voiced his opinion that all Gelfs should be shot.
 
The Blue Dwarf's chief Doctor was also on her way. She had packed enough medical supplies for a small emergency and Lieutenant Box the aptly-named robot was now bringing it to the shuttle for her.
The away team were going to fly down to the planet in the Starbug 1, the technicians were giving her a quick fixup and then a polish. The away team would consist of Captain Canon, Commander Niples, Doctor Van Threk, Scientist Mahok Yolandon, Major Harris and two of his security officers- Ensign Ned Meat and Ensign Robert Donover.
 
Everyone met at the shuttle and climbed aboard. Commander Niples looked at the large case that Major Harris was dragging.
"What is that anyway?" he asked.
"Just a few things that I thought might come in handy..." was Harris' cryptic reply.
Seymore opened the case, it was full of weapons.
"What the smeg?!" shrieked the commander, "there's enough to supply a small army here! We're going on a scouting mission, not a bloody seek-and-destroy!"
Captain Cannon arrived at the shuttle looking at his watch, he noticed the assortment of guns.
"Ahh, good idea" he said. "We might need weapons if things turn nasty, we dont know what could be down there."
 
Five minutes later the away team were on Starbug 1 speeding towards the planet. It looked greyish/brown from space, not a particularly attractive site- but it probably had enough resources it could be stripped clean of.
The Starbug angled towards the planet and started the descent.
A panel beeped inside the cockpit. "Something's not right." said Dr. Van Threk. everyone else agreed.
"Theres a large blip coming towards us!" shouted Major Harris.
"That's the planet you fool!" laughed the captain.
"oh yeah....... hang on- theres a small blip coming towards us!"
"how small?" asked Niples.
The captain ingored this petty question and immediately shouted. "battlestations, evasive manouvers!"
"Evasive what?" asked Harris.
"just wiggle the flight stick around" whispered the doctor. 
But it was too late, a missile crashed into the side of the starbug and sent it spiralling towards the planet's surface.
The crew screamed in terror.
Even Holly ducked from view as the ground came rising up to them fast.
 
<<OOC.Could everyone on the shuttle please write what your character is doing while all this madness is going on. Make it as zany as you want (why do I think of Major Harris when I say that?!) Try to extend it (and have fun!)>>
