Splashdown..and Denial..

Who:- Tara, Jay
Where:- Phoenix
When:- After phil shared himself out.
Jay said nothing to Tara, what COULD he say? Nothing was gonna bring
Phil back. He'ed land the shuttle and then offer a shoulder to cry on.
At the moment he knew one thing, and that was that he didnt know WHO
piloted the Phoenix to safety.
He pulled back on the throttle control, ready to bring the Phoenix in
to land.
"um...Kelly?"
no response
"Tara..we have a problem"
"So?"
"Just thought you'd like to know that we cant stop...no biggie."
"Big deal"
Jay realised he wasnt gonna get any sense outta Tara, and Kelly
seemed to be offline, he had one choice, abort the landing and head
for Earth.
"Tara, I hope you didnt plan on seeing the kids any time soon, only
we gotta go down."
The small shuttle hurtled into the atmosphere of the blue planet, the
flames painted on its hull being replaced by real ones as the
atmosphere caused more and more friction against its rapidly
accelerating bodywork.
"Theres no way i can land at this speed!" shouted Jay
Tara didnt really seem all that bothered.
"Gonna change trajectory and hit the ocean"
It took a few more minutes until finally the Phoenix hit the surface
of the Mediterranean Sea.
sinking about 20 feet then floating resurfacing the customised midget
settled on the surface.
"I gotta stop doing that...." Jay muttered then checked the Navicomp.
"We're a few miles north of Africa, Egypt to be precise."
Tara shrugged.
"I'm gonna take us to land, come on."
The Phoenix still had it's underwater turbines from the Eniram
mission fitted, Jay flicked a switch and the thrusters retracted
against the hull, two turbines swung out from between the legs of the
ship, the legs, folding up agaisnt the hull.
The turbines fired up and the shuttle moved toward Egypt.
A few hours later Jay had turned into a river outlet, heading into
Egyptian terriroty.
He was stopped by a man frantically waving his arms around.
Jay opened the hatch and shuted down to him.
"Whats the problem?!"
"YOU!! You are the problem!"
"What?"
"you're ship, youu cant bring a spaceship down the river!"
"no law against it!"
"but yo're in the Nile!
"I'm not denying anything!"
"NO! You are in The Nile"
"WHAT?"
"You are in the river Nile, that is ILLEGAL! it's a national
landmark!"
"Ohh....Ok hold on."
Jay ducked back down into the ship, and brought the shuttle onto land.
He and Tara disembarked.
"Tara, we need to find somewhere wher eI can get the ship fixed, or
we're stuck here."
