Seymour + Katrina "Meet the parents"

***snip***
"You're My Captain everyday," she whispered. "So, want to come down and meet my parents? There's plenty of room in our backyard to land the Space Eagle."***end snip***

OOC- Its funny you shoud suggest this Nick, I'm going to stop at my girlfriends house near Nottingham soon and meet her parents for the first time. Eeep!

RPG-
(ex Captain) Seymour Niples and Katrina Swete
Bucketville, Maine, USA
Earth

The SpaceEagle flew along the main street of the small American town.

"Seymour dearest, you're driving on the wrong side of the road!!" Katrina shouted in panic as a huge behemoth of a hover-truck came heading straight towards them.

"Oh dear, I wondered why they were beeping their horns at me. I thought it was just Americans being rude. I just learned to drve on the left, that's all."

Katrina rolled her eyes.

"So what's this town called where your parents live? Bucket-ville? That's an...odd name."
"its pronounced 'Bow-kayville'!"
"Oh, terribly sorry."

Seymour descended the shiny green fighter craft into the backyard of the Swete family home. Katrina jumped out and met her mother and father, who both hugged her tightly.

"Mother, Father, this is Seymour. He's unfortunately just been sacked from the Blue Dwarf after an.... incident."

Seymour had eventually explained to Katrina about the Plebian arm, at first he had hidden it from her- thinking that she would be scared and worry too much. He had been stupid to think that Katrina wouldn't understand, she was so very understanding and nothing had ever seemed to stop her from loving him. Seymour really liked that, it made him so much more comfortable, knowing that he didn't have to make her like him all of the time. He now felt secure enough that their relationship could last through anything.

"Sacked eh?" Said Katrina's dad.

He could fight gelfs, save planetoids, and get the BD out of trouble hundreds of times but there was something about meeting the parents of your girlfriend that made Seymour very nervous. He was instantly put on the spot.

"It was more of a ...misunderstanding with superiors. I had the best interests of Earth at heart, a General didn't."

That was a fairly satisfactory answer, her dad muct like him now. He desperately wanted to get on with Katrina's parents. He knew that if they didn't like him, they would tell Katrina and maybe change her mind about him too. Seymour suddenly didn't feel that secure anymore. He stood there awkwardly.

Katrina's dad grunted at him in disbelief and they all walked inside.

Seymour used a button on his hand-control to remote-lock the Space Eagle and followed them into the house. After a while of talking, and more of them getting to know each other over dinner, Seymour was put through rigorous questionnings about his command on the Blue Dwarf, how well qualified he is to get another job, whether his next job would pay enough to support himself and Katrina. Her dad kept probing deeper and deeper, just to see if Seymour was good enough for his daughter.

But Seymour was polite, he smiled and passed the salt when asked. He even kept quiet when Katrina's dad poured the wine, saying it was a 2067- when in fact Seymour rcognised the bottle to be in fact a 2098 rebottled after a plasma fire in the wine storage cellars on Titan burned the labels off. A lot were sold cheap that year, but as Seymour facied himself to be a bit of a wine expert, he quickly noticed the difference. In fact he sometimes liked a challenge and drank different wines blindfolded to guess the vintage and origin.

But he didn't like to tell anyone as a lot of people thought it was sad.

The next morning Seymour awoke on the couch. After an uncomfortable night of tossing and turning, he realised he'd actully been laid on the family cat.
"Seymour, Seymour! Are you awake?" Katrina came into the living room in her dressing gown and bunny slippers.
"Are they my slippers?" Seymour asked in a half-asleep daze.

Katrina's eyes widened in confusion and she laughed. Seymour woke up properly and sat upright.
"Uhm yes...erm..of course not. Indeed. I DON'T have any slippers like that!"
"Its okay Seymour, I looked in your wardrobe when I packed. I found these at the bottom..." she teased.
"They were..erm... a present." Seymour coughed to regain his normal proud composure.

Suddenly the remote for the Space Eagle chirped.
"I've got a transmission!" Seymour said excitedly, he hoped that it was going to be General Anders, who would apologise for being so harsh and reinstate Niples to help him get rid of the robot spiders, which were probably spreading very radiply by now.

They both rushed into the Space Eagle and looked at the communication screen.
"Well, who is it from?" Katrina said excitedly, trying to see over Seymours shoulder at the screen.
Seymour stood back, confused and dazed.

"Its from Buckingham palace, apparently the Queen wants to see me!!"

Katrina almost feinted.
