The Great Escape

Who: Chris
When: Between 7 and 8 the morning after
Where: On the Blue Dwarf if you hadnt guessed already
Chris lay face down staring into his pillow. He wasn't asleep. He produced
another pillow from wherever it had disappeared to during the night and put
it on top of his head so that no light could get through to his eyes.
His alarm clock rang out next to his bed at half past seven in the morning.
Without dislodging the pillow he reached over and hit the alarm clock. It
stopped it's futile attempt to wake him from his doze and his arm returned
to its original position. Within twenty minutes or so it had become pretty
obvious that he wasnt going to get any sleep. He threw the pillow onto the
floor, rolled over, sat up and rubbed his eyes. He stared at the reflection
cast from the mirror opposite him. His eyes were red, shadowed by large and
dark bags.
Ten minutes later he found the willpower to remove himself from the staring
contest with the person in the mirror. He stood up, leaving his bed in a
mess and walked into his bathroom. He stroked the stubble that had appeared
on his face since the last time he had shaved. With a reluctant sigh he
reached over to the razor that sat on the edge of his wash basin. Five
minutes later he was nearly finished and had several cuts on his face
because he couldnt see what he was doing well enough as his eyes were having
a difficulty staying open.
After he had finished, he splashed his face with cold water, in the vain
attempt that it might wake him up properly. It had little effect and he
stepped into the shower wearing the same expression as his Keto when he
hadnt screwed up a patients life, condemning them to smell of rotting
hamsters for the rest of their life or something equally sinister.
Upon emerging from the shower, Chris had little more life in him. He
haphazardly got dressed into his uniform whilst making a cup of coffee. He
swallowed the cup of coffee before leaving, picking up his GunBlade and
attaching it to his belt as he went.
Chris' mind went awol as he was walking down the corridor towards wherever
he was going, it didnt matter really, even though he was supposed to be on
duty what difference would it make. He thought about what had happened last
night and he chuckled to himself. It was a mess. And all thanks to the
magical man Jay Chrysler.
"Smeghead..." he muttered quietly to himself as he continued to walk.
"Not exactly his fault though is it" he continued in his mind, which in many
ways was right because Jay hadn't asked to be connected to the hive mind.
"Meh...what do I care" he said bluntly, stopping to reconsider for a second.
He shrugged and walked on. He stood for a moment next to a coffee machine,
where he got a coffee before realising where he was. Just outside the hangar
bay. A faint smile etched acorss his now battered face before he opened the
door and walked into the hangar bay. A guard stood just inside the door.
"Where do you think you're going?" he asked
"To the land where clothes are made of chewing gum and the clouds sing in
German, what the hell does it look like, moron" replied Chris before
gesturing towards his GunBlade.
"Geddit?" he asked pointedly
"S....S..Sure" said the guard with a feigned smile.
"Jolly Good" he replied, turning around and proceeding towards a random
starbug.
Chris entered the starbug and started it up before looking out the window to
see that the guard was no longer there.
"Son of a...." said Chris before boosting the engines and flying straight
through the hangar door. He flew further into the space that lay before him,
looking, hunting for Jay....
