Dealing with a Knight

-The Cartagan Orchard; Morning of 2 DSTR-

Sliding the glass of juice to the side, Randel looked at the younger man. “And what makes you think magic is nothing but natural?” He asked him pointedly but did not wait for the other to answer. “I see you do not have much experience in this bargaining thing. I am sure you have been able to get all you desire without having think of offering something in return. Your life has been very much about serving yourself.” The words were sharp and pointed, clearly crafted to hurt and to shame at the same time. He looked at Tyreth like a parent scolding a toddler.

Randle stood and slipped the necklace away. “If you do not wish to deal with me then I will see you pay the full amount by the end of the week or I will exact my amount from your holdings, be it land, or slaves.” He looked directly at Cordelia. “I am sure either way you will find it hard to run this place without the other.” He said with a charming smile to the lady. The bard knew how to charm, and this was a charming smile. Warm and open, his eyes fixed on hers with a knowing and kind gaze.

His eyes went to Tyreth. “However, if you do value this place then you should think about what it is you are offering me and what it is that I would desire, because I have made it very clear, I will not invest in something I am not assured it will return on. Therefore, your Uncle borrowed against the Orchard. Land and slaves always have value.”

He picked up his box. “So, unless you have something else to offer?” He waited a moment.
