Adventure Time pt 5

The sun was touching the tree tops. "We should find a place to camp." he said. "Might still have a few hours but I don't want to try and set up camp in the dark. I don't want to try making a fire in the pitch black dark of the woods."

Arc nodded in agreement as he replied, "Yeah. Its a good time to set up camp anyway." Arc stopped to look around and saw a decent spot as he pointed it out to the others. Then he cleaned off a safe spot for the fire and pulled out some firewood from his bag of holding and then used his magic sword to light the fire. Then he pulled out his Cooking Spit tool set from his pouch and set it up so they could cook their food. He then said, "All righty then we just need bedding and food. How do you all feel about taking rounds to do watch?"

"We can discuss that over dinner." Parvil said as he cleared out a rather large circle off to one side. Dropping his backpack he took out a folded black square. "Just give me a minute here." He requested as he unfolded it. The fabric like material making a large circle on the ground that was so dark it looked fake. When it was flat it snapped into place. Creating a void. "Back in a second." He said stepping onto the hole and seemingly shifting vertically and walking into it. He reemerged carrying a cooking pot filled with jarred spices and a loaf of rustic bread and wax sealed cheese. "So we don't eat just meat."

Krosik watched in amazement as Parvil and Arc just seemed to pull supplies out of Arc's bag or Parvil's black hole. Krosik thought this most fortunate. Normally Krosik was the one supplying everything or most of it anyway. He also reached into his bad on Iron and pulled out 4 mini kags. "I hope you guys like Ale. I do have one kag of wine. It's a good wine I think." comments Krosik. and some more dread and cheese. Krosik also places the 4 rabbits skinned and ready by the fire. "I hope this is enough," said Krosik.

Parvil shrugged "I'm sure it will be." He said. "I could make some of that into stew." He offered "Could be better than just cooked unseasoned meat."

" Stew, stew is good," said Krosik with a smile as his eyes lit up with excitement. "I might get fat being with ye guys and all this good cooking. My cooking skills are burning water and the pan then fixing the pan the next day," stated Krosik with a hearty laugh.

"Back in the hole then." Parvil said, walking over and vanishing again. Sounds of things being move came from the void like hole until a burlap sac arced out and landed on the ground out of the hole, Parvil following it not long after walking up to the edge of the hole vertically. "This should do it." he said stepping out and shifting abck to a horizontal standing position. "I alway hate having to lay this thing flat." he mused looking at the hole. "Can't be helped though... Any way. Soup or Stew, which ever it ends up being." he said.

Sitting the new bag down and pulling out some root vegetables. "Once it gets dark...do I have a story for the two of you."

Arc replied, Ahhhh. Dinner and a show eh? Speaking of which what kind of entertainment would be popular these days?” Arc started a conversation to see what kind of response he might get.

"Well, then, Drink food and a story. Most fortunate I am. Ye know how to have a Dwarvin good time." comments Krosik with a grin. "

Arc rubbed the chin part of his helmet as he pondered Krosik’s words. For some odd reason he felt that was a similar entertainment he had back in his world, but the details were vague. He remembered people drinking, singing bardic songs, dancing and some street performers. However their faces were all blurred when he tried to focus on them. Though it was a bit of a relief that he learned this, he was unnerved that his memory was messed up. He then replied, “Interesting. I hope we enjoy our time together.”

"I can think of one of us who won't." Parvil thought but what he said was. "I'm sure we will."

Parvil peeled and cut up carrots, potatoes and some other storage unidentified root vegetable into the pot of boiling liquid he'd poured from a jar. It smelled delicious. Once the meat had cooked over the fire and the soup reduced to a thicker texture he'd add in the meat. "So..." Parvil said as he cut the veggies like a grandma would. "If we are going to travel together we should at least know a smidge about each other."

Arc replied, "Well I am Arc the Paladin. I have only been here a short time and still getting used to it. Sadly my memory is a bit hazy so the details of my past are on the blurry side. So as you can see I don't have a long story." Arc chuckled a bit as he scratched the top of his helmet.

Parvil shrugged. "That's fine, mines to complicated to get into right now. But the short version I'm something of an arcane slash supernatural P.I." He said. "Work for...lets call it the government for simplicity." he added.

As the sun sat, and they exchanged banter, the soup had finished cooking. Parvil noticed Arc not taking off his helmet to eat. "If you have some monastic thing going on where you can't take the helmet off, you can have first watch. Give you time to eat away from prying eyes." Parvil suggested.
---

As the sun sat and Krosik and Parvil ate through a mouthful Parvil spoke up. "I've got a scary story." he said with a mischievous grin and quickly finished his bowl of soup. "A friend of my told me it. True story if one's to believe it. Might have been spiced up a bit over the years."

Story pt 1

Parvil watched as Krosik leaned in more interested in the story and Arc get more tense.

Story pt 2

The more of the tale Parvil wove the more Krosik seemed enthralled and Arc seemed on edge.

Story pt 3

As Parvil finished Krosik slapped his knee "What an gruesome tale that was Parvil." the dwarf complimented.
Arc however was he shaking in his armor? No couldn't be. "That wasn't all true was it?" Arc asked.
"The end might just be there to scare people but an the first part really happened. There are historical records of it."
