The Good, The Bad, and The Worst...

Tam smiled, a big, silly, over-the-top, "so happy she could die" smile. "I'm sure we can get that settled!" She was practically vibrating she was so giddy. As Serenity and River got snug to watch movies, Tam did the same but with Kent, pulling him to her and resting her head on his shoulder as they watched movies. All the while she had wished she had taken up the chance to get some alone time with Kent, but this was fine too. Just being with him, feeling him against her, was enough.

It had been such an insane couple of days. And with all the bad that had happened so much good had come to counterbalance it all. Tam felt happy, genuinely happy, and hopeful for the first time in a long time. And she was thankful to be so lucky.

Veronica frowned as she entered the main lobby and saw the nervous-looking clerk staring at a tall and rather beautiful older woman in a clean and pressed business suit. She had blonde hair and when the woman looked at her she knew what she had heard had to be true.

"You're the doctor overseeing my son's recovery?" The woman asked.

Veronica nodded. "Yes... you said... you're Chris's mother?"

The woman nodded. "Yes. Renee Saunders. I heard about my ex-husband's untimely death and what had happened... tell me... do you know where my daughter is as well?"
