The Possum Is Happy At Least

River was busy watching after Chris while Serenity made phone calls and Tam "disappeared". From what she had heard the blond girl saying, she suspected something horrible might be happening to Kent's father, but she was not about to say anything unless Serenity ask.

When Kent arrived, he glanced around and went to Serenity. "Where's Tam at?" He asked with concern. A part of him already knew...

--

Kent's father sighed as he answered the door and gazed down at the blond girl. If she took a good look at him, she could tell this man looked nothing like his son at all with his greying hair and angry expression.

"What do you want, brat?" He asked crudely.

--

Kevin nodded as he found his hairbrush in his backpack and started fighting his unruly blond hair. "I know...I just don't want you to feel uncomfortable, Max. I care about you like a brother, you know..." Getting a nasty knot out of his hair, he grunted in annoyance and looked toward the front door. "I'm just scared right now..."

An almost sad chuckle escaped him as he thought about it. "I'm scared of a fucking sixteen year old girl, Max." He said.

Bonnie reached up and tugged at Max's fingers, making happy little possum noises as her back feet kicked out at the air happily.
